It’s branded as a 5 start hotel, yet I didn’t really feel as such. Felt more like a huge 4-star hotel. You have to pay to get into their rooftop lounge even if you’re staying with them. I booked the large suite and although it’s a huge room it did feel a little dated. The view though was spectacular. When I was checking in, I asked the gentleman checking me in if they exchanged Thai Bahts as I was getting there from Thailand. I saw they had an exchange monitor behind the checkin counter, but obviously, Thai baht was not there. I asked if they exchanged Thai baht and if so what would the exchange rate would be. He said, they did but didn’t know the exchange rate and for me to please check the monitor. I found this to be a bit rude and evasive. He could have checked and exchanged them for me on the spot. But instead he referred me to the monitor. Not part of the 5 star hotel experience I was expecting. In all other instances the staff was friendly and attentive though.
