Very tired older hotel in need of major updates. Electrical outlet hanging out of the wall and only half of it working. Staff were pleasant. Would expect more for over $200 a night in off season. Would not rebook here on our return trip home.

Hot tub jets didn’t work , and sauna was cold . However everything else about stay was great. Good breakfast as well .

Went for a getaway to relax and to get away from the wildfire smoke here in N.S. Advertized pool,sauna,hot tub....Told out of order after we were checked in and settled in. The pool,hot tub and sauna were why we decided to stay at the Claymore!...Then went to watch tv and could not get channels so hotspotted to phone and clerk came up beating on our door. Opened door and she barged in telling us to turn down tv...I wiĺl never in my life stay there again...There are hotels in the area that are over 100 dollars cheaper as well....Very upset and dissatisfied... Felt like we were criminals...Just horrible! Restaurant had good service but bathroom pooper was out of order and very,very dirty urinals...Do not stay here!!!!!!

The Claymore is in a great location, close to STFX University, the local mall and a couple of restaurants. I had no issues with the staff at the Claymore. They were very friendly, and the room I had was clean. The hotel has obviously had some recent updates to the hallways, but visitors should know the rooms are very dated. The bathrooms in particular are long overdue for a refresh, requiring updated fixtures and new towels. I could accept this situation if it was offered at a discount, but the hotel is in the same price range as other properties in the region that are much newer/updated facilities.

Hotel and restaurant staff were available, courteous and helpful. The outside area by the front door needed a tidy up and hallways were a bit dusty, but otherwise my room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious!

The place was great. Check in was quick. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The $15 voucher per person for breakfast in the restaurant pretty much covered a full breakfast for each of us. Definitely will stay again if passing through.

Very Tired hotel

Friendly staff but this hotel is old and very, very tired, the room was very over priced for what you get. The cafe for breakfast was very good.

Extortionate price for a very run down property. Surprised that such a large hotel wouldn’t have 24 hour onsite clerk when 100% sold out. The bed covers weren’t clean and the bathrooms are so run down it’s actually hard to tell if they are clean or not. Add in peeling wallpaper and loose asbestos tile in the stairwell and I’m thrilled to have spent almost $300 per night.
