Powder House Lodge has a very professional and courteous staff, and is conveniently located about 10 minutes from Mount Rushmore. The on site restaurant has great food and friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again if I were to visit the area.

We loved everything and wish we could've stayed longer. We stayed in the "honeymoon cabin" because it has a private hot tub. It was perfect! Staff was excellent as well

The cabin was quiet and cozy. It rained while we were there so we did not get an opportunity to utilize and explore their outdoor amenities. The onsite restaurant is amazing. We had an issue with one of our dishes but the staff bent over backwards to make things right. Nicholas, the restaurant manager, came by several times to apologize, make things right and followed up to make sure we were happy. My steak dinner was one of the best I've ever had. We will definitely return if we are in the area.

Why this place received such good reviews is beyond me. Rude owner and host, food was nothing to write home about and the room was extremely small, bed was uncomfortable, no phone in the room, no cell signal, WiFi was very weak etc. etc. The steps to the room are natural stone and very uneven and I almost fell twice. I saw another older couple that had the same problem. Owner did not care. Suggested I can go somewhere else. Just horrible. I will never go there again.

The location is near to Mount Rushmore and their restaurant is good too. Definitely stay there again if I comeback to Mount Rushmore in the future.

Excellent restaurant!! The check-in process was friendly and well-informing. The location of the lodge made our excursions to Mt Rushmore and Custer State Park very comfortable. One morning, I woke up to deer cruising through. Loved it!!

We loved cabin 59. Plenty of room inside and the back deck area was perfect. We would definitely book again if we are in the area again.

Everything was wonderful except one thing. The hot water didn't last too long and my wife couldn't figure out how to divert the water to the shower head. I suggest you add a note in the bathtub area and change the shower head to reduce water flow a little and the hot water will last much longer.

The staff was amazing, very accommodating! The phone and WiFi didn’t work. The restaurant had great reviews all our food was very good, service was great but I think the shrimp in my pasta was old as I had stomach problems all next day. It is next to highway so noise level is high, just an fyi until dark then it’s quiet.. the AC unit is VERY loud and constantly wakes you up but I enjoyed my stay
