This place is awesome!

This place is awesome! We picked this hotel based on location and reviews. All the reviews were positive and raving. We see why, it was great. The entire grounds were immaculately clean and very well maintained. Both pools and the hot tub were open and spotless. They have a cookie social hour every day with fresh baked cookies and milk! They even had towels available for motorcycle riders to clean and dry their bikes. This is hands down a great hotel pick. We will be back!!!

Comfortable and cute

We definitely recommend this hotel! Close enough to get to everything, but far enough to be quieter. Excellent hospitality from each person we met. The only thing I would change is the shower head height, which was mounted comically low! You’d have to be under 5’6” to comfortably stand under the shower. We would stay here again for sure!

It is a charming place to stay. Admittedly we probably didn't take full advantage of the property as we were out exploring but we loved the beautiful setting. Close to Custer but still set off a bit. Our kids enjoyed both pools, the outdoor games, the chalk drawings, the video games in the lobby. Honestly, it is a perfect place to stay with your family. The staff was nice, the place was quaint and FULL of charm. It is a great home base while you to take in all the things wonderful adventures South Dakota has to offer. Only critique is hot tub is on the small side.

A hidden gem! I only wish we had a few more days here (we stayed one night). The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated and clean. The bed was soft as we're the pillows. I'm sure if you prefer harder pillows they would have a selection at the front desk. The facilities include a swimming pool, hottub, walking path, pickleball court, and laundry. And they provide laundry detergent! The lobby has a selection of treats and drinks which you can purchase. The only thing I would have liked was coffee and small breakfast items in the morning. While there was a coffee maker in the room, there was no coffee in the lobby and breakfast was not included. Parking onsite was safe and readily available. The hotel felt like a home away from.home with lovely flowers throughout. Highly recommend staying in Custer at the Bavarian Inn on your next trip!

The best!

We loved this hotel and would stay again! Safe, quiet, beautiful and clean. Great parking, floor room and upgraded. Pickleball, basketball, 2 pools (indoor and outdoor) and all in a beautiful area. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel and it was perfect for kids and adults alike.

This was an iconic hotel that reminds me of a posh place to stay in my childhood during the 80s. They were able to honor my request for rooms next to each other since we have a large family and young kids. My kids loved the pool, pickle ball, yard games. Front desk employee was very kind at check in and then 15 minutes later when the kids locked us out of our room. 😆 The rooms were clean. Had everything we needed to eat in our room the food we were traveling with. It was a nice resting spot to sit out in the evening and enjoy the summer weather. It might not be the newest and trendiest in the area, but it has this magical summer night charm to it. The people who work there are welcoming and helpful.

Lovely place, a true gem!

We spent a weekend here and wish it had been longer! It's a nicely updated motel, a bit kitschy, clean and comfortable with well thought out details. The bed was super comfortable, even got the name of the brand on my way out (apparently it's a common question). The staff was very friendly, they have cookies and milk from 3:30 - 4:30, and with an indoor and outdoor pool, pickle ball court, games, swings, large chess board and plenty of outdoor places to lounge, it covers the full families needs. I even had a postcard to mail and when I asked to buy a stamp they said, just put it here in a mail box they have and they will add stamps and drop them off, completely at no charge. We had a lovely time with thoughtful staff, will definitely stay again if we come back!
