We were very surprised that the Tavern and Restaurant were closed. This should have been advertised before booking. The room was very clean, but the bathroom was very dated with peeling paint, the bathtub was scaled with residue, and discolored peeling concrete resin. The carpet was old, stained, and bubbling up, which is a tripping hazard. The window shades in the room were ripped and broken as well. THIS INN has SO much Potential, so sad to see how run down it is. I booked this thinking it was a quaint little inn for our 10th anniversary.I was shocked and did not expect the accommodations to be what they were. We made the best of it, but it was very disappointing.

What a lovely place. We spent a night here, and the facility was historic and beautiful. Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff could not have been kinder and more welcoming. We really enjoyed talking with them about the history of the area. I hope we can stay here again!!

Only stay here if you are a history buff. Do not stay on an upper floor during the summer. The cooling is terrible because of the age of the building. It was clean and quiet. Picture is deceptive because the bar and restaurant are not open.

If your history buff exploring the area this is your ideal base of operations. Close to many local historical sites and the place itself is a piece of Americana. If the walls could talk in this place who knows what it would tell us about the past. It was quaint and interesting, but beware if you don’t like the smell of antiques. I had to track down staff to check in and call the manager who frankly seemed a bit miffed that I called her.
