the room was clean but the bed was uncomfortable and the shower was horrible. The air conditioner was super loud and made loud clanking noises when it turned off and on. The room itself would have been what I expected if i was paying $80 a night for the room but not for the 300-400 they are asking per night. i would literally never stay here again.

We love Shenandoah National Park and Big Meadows. We like the convenience of staying in the park. The lodge is very dog friendly which is nice since we travel with the dog. We have never visited this late in the season, so we didn’t hike. The visitor center was closed due to government shut down. I would classify the lodge as rustic. Room was comfortable.

We liked the rustic feeling. No TV, No microwave, No Fridge, No internet, just peace and quiet. Easy to get to. Deer all around area to watch. We got there and they said restaurant was closed because of power issues. So we did go downstairs to the Tap Room to eat.

We had a wonderful stay at Big Meadows Lodge in Shenandoah National Park. The lodge has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, and our room was clean and comfortable. A couple of areas could be improved: (1) better sound insulation between rooms, as we could hear noise from neighboring guests (TVs, conversations, etc.), and (2) quicker service in the restaurant. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return!

Within park, beautiful location but hotel is terrible. Very old, dirty outdated not worth price of rooms. Terrible front desk service. Bar had good service and ok good but overpriced.

Absolutely one of the best meals ever. I am an avid cook and must commend the chef for the perfectly cooked trout, fluffy quinoa, FRESH steamed spinach appreciated and green been cooked to perfection, as well as the delicious lemon/butter sauce. Delicious!!!!

It is rustic but so perfect for the area. Good food in the dinning room, clean room, beds were good. Just a sweet place to step back in time and slow down. Look forward to visiting again!

Our first room was not up to standard, everything was sub-par. Our concerns were brought to the reception desk and they offered alternate accomodation, which also were worse than the first. On our return after second days activities, the manager offered another alternate accommodation which was different from the original room set up. This appeared to be newer and was definitely better than the first, so we swapped for our remaining stay All credit to the front desk especially Claire and Manager Amanda for their efforts Update: shortly after leaving Big Meadows Lodge, my wife exhibited numerous bite marks on her neck, back and earlobe which is attributed to bed bugs. The First room we stayed in should be checked and the necessary remedial steps taken.
