After many train transport issues getting to Madrid we were so comfortable at the Maydrit Hotel. Our room was very clean & sparkling, the bed super comfortable. Got a light dinner in hotel restaurant which was very nice, up and on the shuttle which was timely in the AM. We would absolutely stay here again.

Creo que lo puedo calificar como un excelente hotel en Madrid. Solo estuve un día para regresar al aeropuerto pero definitivamente cuando regrese volveré a reservar ahi. El personal de recepción super amable y dedicado a su trabajo. La instalación muy buena, las habitaciones y los baños perfectos, muy limpio todo y bonito. El servicio de transporte al aeropuerto buenísimo , tienen también el metro a solo dos cuadras y el hotel cuenta con restaurante y servicio de cafeteria. En fin excelente todo. La relación precio/ calidad es excelente . Muchas gracias.

I am a bicultural and bilingual English-Spanish speaker. We stayed at the Maydrit the night before returning to our home in the U.S., after visiting friends and family for the holidays. I had reserved a room with a king sized bed since that's what we have at home. The receptionist who checked us in said that unfortunately we'd have a room with two twin beds because the hotel was full and there were no rooms with king beds available. I didn't answer, just looked him straight in the eye. Then he said that he might be able to get us a king suite, but that since it was an upgrade, we'd have to pay more. So, let's see: I reserve a room with a king sized bed two months in advance, he tells me that he doesn't have one, then upgrades us, (because it's clearly their mistake), but charges us for the upgrade? What's wrong with that picture, señores? We said ok because we didn't want to argue. However, I did say that I had reserved a room with a king sized bed, as if to say, I don't expect nor want anything more or less, just what I reserved. Then, magically, he said that we would'nt have to pay anything extra because he had found what we booked - a room with a king sized bed. He must have sensed my disapproval. So, what was all of that about? Pocketing a supplement for himself, perhaps? Don't know. But this check-in experience together with the fact that the Maydrit is in a residential area with only one dining option outside of the hotel, means that we won't be staying there again.

Overall, I am grateful for the stay and for the airport shuttle. However, I was genuinely surprised by how thin the blanket was - closer to a sheet than a proper blanket. Considering it was mid-winter and around 0°C outside, this felt inadequate. I was exhausted and only had a few hours to sleep before my flight, so I didn’t contact the front desk or adjust the thermostat, prioritizing rest and quiet instead. As a result, the room felt uncomfortably cold. Even in summer, I typically use a thicker blanket, so this was quite unexpected.

It was our last day in Spain and we we wanted a hotel that had a shuttle service to the airport and a breakfast - it had both. The breakfast was good and varied. The shuttle service was great! The hotel was clean, the rooms were clean. The decor was modern. My only complaint was that the room was cold and the heating system did not really heat the room - although it was a very cold night.
