This is a wonderful place to say whether in Summer or Winter. The accommodations are very comfortable and quiet. As we stayed in Winter the lake was frozen over and we felt like the only people in the world.

Machias River Inn
We were able to park right in front of our room which was nice. The adjacent restaurant (not part of the inn) was excellent and very convenient. The river views are mesmerizing!

The Bluebird Motel
Room was comfortable and quiet with a nice bed. Stayed in the older building but new rooms are available soon. Walk to breakfast at Tom's. Good option for Machias.
