Very central. Friendly staff and clean, comfortable room. Expensive for what it is. If you want peace, quiet and genteel luxury this is not the hotel for you. If you want to experience Edinburgh at it’s must lively it is perfect. Older style and rather quirky with lively pub attached to Hotel.

Loved my (short) stay. The staff are just lovely and helpful, the room gorgeous, shower was wonderful, dinner delicious and the bed very comfy. The only downside is also the plus side, it’s right in the middle of the tourist area and across from the station so has that ‘inner city’ dirt/noise, but neither come into the hotel so the experience is great. Just be aware there is a lift from the street where the train station is. I got a good workout going up the public stairs, again good after sitting and travel. Overall beautiful hotel, even more beautiful team.

Great room in awesome location. We were able to walk to the castle, do th royal mile down to the palace and then walk up Carlton hill in a great day out, then walk back to our room from there and have a great meal and a Guinness at the Irish pub next door.

"New parking charge of £10 per day. Ants in bedroom, pool locker jammed and had to wait 25 mins to get clothes etc and asked for a towel to be told to use the hairdryer to warm myself. No plug in wash hand basin. Feel that hotel has been let to run down lately. Food expensive !!!"
