When we first checked in we were told we have to pay parking, even though it says online it is free parking and they said they just haven’t got round to updating their website. The rooms are very dated and the carpets are disgusting, the pool is freezing cold, went down to get food and they were fully booked but they only have like 7 tables, drinks at the bar are very poor and not got much choice. Pictures online look nothing like this hotel, won’t be back.

Lovely staff

Would like to thank the young lady (barmaid) her customer service was excellent and friendly. On arrival the lady on recption was super helpful and accommodating.

Deceptive Advertising hence the Experience 😞 The hotel's grand, castle-like façade is deceptive—guests actually stay in a converted semi-detached building that lacks quality and eco-friendliness. Despite advertising free parking, we were pressured to pay, though we ultimately did not. While I showed proof that parking was included, the receptionist on 27/05/25 at 5:15 pm took my registration remained dismissive. During my time there, I noticed several other guests facing the same issue. The pool is extremely tiny, far from what is advertised, making it an underwhelming experience. The room’s furniture was also outdated. On a positive note, the staff at the pool area were friendly. Overall, the stay did not match the advertised experience. Also to note they provided the heating upon request, appreciate that.

A nice stay for one night!

The staff were friendly, the free upgrade was appreciated to a junior suite, the bed and room were clean and comfortable although the room is a bit tired! The bathroom was excellent! A bit frustrating that you are unable to charge things to your room.

Perfect little place to stay along the travels. We appreciated the amenities, but the appetizers we ordered were obviously free dried and not fresh at all. Bland and ridiculously small portions. We were so unimpressed we didn’t bother spending money on food there.

Landmark stay over 1 night

Firstly, lets focus on the positives, the accommodation (room) was spotless, extremely pleased with all aspects of the accommodation (room). The hotel was very quiet, little if any external noises. Plenty of available parking and very accessible. The negative elements started as we walked through the front door into reception areas. 1st you have to scan app and register car and pay for parking (which appeared strange as we had not expected to have to pay for parking). However, whilst registering the car we discovered a person hidden behind the reception desk, we were not acknowledged nor welcomed nor asked whether we required any assistances. We walked through to the bar/dining area, nobody there other than some diners, no staff. There was food on the floor of this area, paper moving in the breeze along with at least 1 plastic bottle. Eventually someone did appear and we were able to order food and drinks. Paying for this order was other matter, 2 times we sought to pay to no avail and had to go to reception and state we wanted to pay. The person on reception did not understand us and we had to insist on assistance. In summary, hotel accommodation very good, however general cleanliness of public area poor and unfortunately staff customer service skills were lacking, little engagement with quests, little knowledge of how the hotel operates. We cannot say we felt welcomed.

Value for money

Traveled with 2 children and booked the superior room. However, when checking in the receptionist said King room but i didnt question it. 2 children (boys) and mum all had to sleep in the same bed. Nor what i expected but the receptionist seemed to grumpy (obviously had a bad day) so i didnt question it. Room itself was pleasant although the cleaner missed the windowsill and it was dirty. The bar/restaurant staff were lovely and helpful and the food was excellent. All in all I will happily book here again but insist on my own bed.
