We were booked in for 2 nights, first night we were allocated a disabled persons room,which was not in good condition at all, I asked for a change of room for my second night and the receptionist was very helpful and we were given a far nicer room, other than that it was alright.

Skimping on juice is just daft

Window frame damaged in room so window wouldn't close tight. Not ideal in Dundee in February. More generally, the Holiday Inn Express offers a modest but decent breakfast buffet. However they have stopped giving you actual fruit juice and instead offer fake fruit juice cordial. This is utterly ghastly, just to save a few pennies per customer. Furthermore, many people abandon their glass unfinished, when leaving their breakfast table, resulting in a backup of customers unsure if a table with a "juice," glass on it is available to sit at or not. What a shambles.

We checked in with Sarah, I found her a little abrupt and cold, the room was basic, fluff on the edges of the bed, bathroom door handle hanging off and shower pressure was a trickle in massage mode we had a view of a multistory car park that’s fine but after a drive if 200 miles it was a bit disappointing, breakfast was ok i guess, not great but a budget hotel so as you would expect (we stopped at McDonald’s at Johnstonebridge to top up. On the whole decent enough, basic, budget friendly and please polish those lights in the atrium they are so dirty! Car parking is confusing, night manager is lovely but day staff try smiling once in a while!

Staff were helpful and friendly, room was adequate for our short stay. Only complaint and this is purely superficial is that there where no usb sockets to charge our tech, but beyond that don’t have anything negative to add
