Just beautiful. The location is slightly outside the CBD so it's lovely and quiet but very walkable. And hoo-boy, it's SO pretty! Absolutely loved staying here and it will be our Launie hotel forever now

The bed wasn’t flat, was so uncomfortable I wanted to leave in the middle of the night and sleep in the car. The shower was old school - fine if you like a small water flow and don’t need to wash your hair. And it’s one of those places that uses an overpowering scent that gives you an instant headache. Loved the balcony room, the safe close parking, and the quiet. Especially loved that we could walk to Earl St Theatre, Museum, and good restaurants. Will plan to come again from Hobart for theatre and so on.

Found this hotel last minute. Old style hotel with old fashioned service. The lady who checked us in was very friendly and very helpful. We had a courtyard room and were able to access the carpark easily to bring our bags in through the courtyard doors. Table and chairs in the courtyard for use to sit and have a quiet drink and plan your day/afternoon. Restaurants and pubs within walking distance. It was an easy 10min walk into the centre of Launceston. Rooms were clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable. Bathrooms are a little small if you compared to more modern hotels due to the age and design of the building, but it was easily manageable for my partner and I. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a quirky hotel, I believe it used to be an old bakehouse. Definitely the sort of place I like to stay, but may not be for everyone. My ensuite was pretty narrow, however, it looked like it was in an old part of the original building. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Would stay again, thanks

The “Art on York” combines old fashioned architecture with well kept, and clean furnishings. The staff are friendly and professional. The location in the CBD is ideal. I would be happy to stay there again.

Beautiful heritage building in the heart of Hobart with walkable access to the city and nearby restaurants. I stayed after a hiking trip for the jet bath and will absolutely do so again. A good mix of short and long staying guests who often gather in the communal areas for a chat.

Older building with character. A bit loud with our room above both reception and facing out into an active courtyard on a night when sleep was critical. Any other night we wouldn't have minded. Very comfortable bed. Nice staff. Thank you for the onsite parking and free room upgrade.
