Returned for my 4th visit after a 5 year break due to Malaysia being closed to foreign tourists. The hotel has been extensively renovated during the lockdowm so we spent much more time by the pool and the rooms were great. Miss the vibe of the Cba beach bar. The pelangi grill feels more like a restaurant than a bar. Stayed for 3 nights and noticed the buffets were smaller than before covid and the options were fairly consistent for the 3 nights we were there. Would have liked more variety and missed the Malaysian sweets and dishes and vegan options that we enjoyed in 2020. As on our previous visits the staff were very friendly and efficient. Overall though we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would love to return for a longer stay next year

Beautiful Malay- style Hotel

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful, traditional Malay style hotel, featuring charming chalet style bungalows. The in-room amenities were excellent, and our children especially loved the swimming facilities, enjoying both the cascade pool and the main pool. One area for improvement would be the check-in process, which took quite some time. However, the warm hospitality, including a refreshing welcome drink and a cold towel, made the wait more pleasant. Additionally, while breakfast was enjoyable, a bit more variety would enhance the experience, as the selection became repetitive after a few days. That being said, the hotel’s breathtaking setting truly stands out, with stunning palm-lined surroundings and direct access to the gorgeous private beachfront at Cenang Beach, just steps from our chalet door! Its prime location also provides easy access to a variety of restaurants catering to all tastes. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would absolutely love to return!

The service was extremely horrdenous. I was there from late December to New Year's, fully intending to celebrate my new year's eve there. We were given 2 super singles that formed a "Queen Sized bed" even when we specifically requested for a Queen Sized Bed in our booking only to be told in the end that they had none left when they could have made it clear to us that there were none in the first place and we would have explicitly cancelled. Extremely unprofressional, the New Year's Gala Dinner was also extremely poorly executed, with dark scallops that had the taste of sand and iron in them. I would absolutely not frequent this property again. The facilities might look nice but the attention to detail by the staff overshadows everything else.

Our check-in experience wasn’t great. Although check-in was supposed to be at 3 PM, our room was only ready at 3:30 PM. The rooms are supposedly newly renovated, but some bathroom fixtures are already showing signs of wear. The metal drying rack above the bathtub detached and fell, hitting my 5-year-old son on the arm. Thankfully, it didn’t hit his head or eye, or it could have been much worse. We reported this to the receptionist, but there was no apology or any form of service recovery. Additionally, the soap dispenser attached to the wall was loose, shifting out of position every time we tried to use it. One of the reasons we booked this resort was Expedia’s claim that my membership tier would qualify me for a room upgrade. However, we were informed that the upgrade only applies to stays of at least five nights, which wasn’t clearly stated beforehand. On a positive note, the buggy service was convenient, given the distance between our room, the main pool, and the breakfast restaurant.

Pelangi was an excellent hotel, very relaxing and good location. Staff are all friendly and go over and above. Make sure your expedia booking name matches your passport name as this hotel are strict on that, it is easy to change in the expedia app but just a hassle at check in.
