The place is nice overall, it's at a prime location. However their beds creaks!!!! Also the whole place only has 2 washing machines and 2 dryers. If the place is full probably close to 100 people staying the laundry efficiently not enough. It's not a hard no but I'll not stay at Haka if there's other reasonable options in the area.

Chill in 4pxn room.

Stayed in shared room w 4 persons ensuite. Bed was comfortable. Room and bathroom with heater facilities. As usual and similar to other shared rooms , hanging hooks is limited to one per bed thus used to it. Same complaint on the water detergent but since I purchased one myself, thus is not an issue anymore. Water pressure is good and glad was given a room w accessible thus room is bigger than normal 4 bedder room.

Lovely place to stay, we enjoyed staying in a hostel in a more rural part of NZ. Just found it a bit noisy at night, the sound of the doors opening was constant. The walls were quite thin, so we could hear neighbouring rooms very clearly.

We stayed in an en-suite twin room at Haka House Lake Tekapo and found it spacious, clean, and well-located. The room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the en-suite bathroom was a great plus. Only downside was the heater—it seemed to turn off automatically after an hour, which made the room a bit cold during the night, especially in the autumn chill. Still, a solid and peaceful stay in a stunning location. Would recommend, especially if you’re prepared for cooler nights!
