Hidden gem that we wish knew about sooner

After visiting Tahoe for about 6 times we never knew about this place and wish we did. Great central location, close to lake and offered a restaurant, bar and smores for guest. Not fancy rooms but good enough. I'm told for best rates are right after Easter which we were able to take advantage of. Would def stay here again.

Charming but cramped

Lovely, well-maintained property right on the beach. So nice to sit on the balcony watching the lake and then turn on the fireplace when it got chilly. I reserved a king room and received a queen, and the room was extremely cramped. Missing lots of amenities you would expect at this price point (table or desk, microwave, vent and heat in the bathroom, etc.) Overall this was a nice choice for traveling with a pet and I would stay again but make sure I got a bigger room.

I liked my stay here—the location is excellent, right in the heart of the city with beautiful beach views and easy access to everything. However, I do believe there’s room for improvement in a few areas. For a property of this size, the hot pool felt quite small. The ice machine was out of service, and we had to go to the kitchen for ice, which was a bit inconvenient. There were no water bottles provided, and the room was quite basic, lacking a microwave and sufficient lighting. Additionally, I noticed there weren’t enough trash bins around the property, and having just one coffee machine for all guests was limiting. While there’s a resort fee, the amenities offered didn’t quite match up to that extra charge. I believe with a few enhancements, the overall experience could be significantly elevated

Early in the morning, the staff drives around in golf carts, pulling laundry carts, which make it very noisy on the cement and the Rocky Road, the manager that was on duty upon check-in was as rude as can be. She had an attitude from the second I walked up to to check in. They charge a resort fee for nothing more to use a public beach and their restaurant which I wouldn’t even walk into.

The views of the lake from nearly everywhere on the property are above the best out there. Friendly staff, outstanding customer service, extras provided like complimentary coffee, water, S'mores and doggie treats were what separates this place from other higher end resorts. Highly recommend to everyone lookin for a relaxing, comfortable, affordable, professional and outside the box thinking Retreat. 5 stars
