When we checked in, the guest services representative asked us if we wanted a particular room or view, and we had stated we would like a lake view - we had a view of the parking lot. I don't think we should be asked what we would like if it isn't available. Also, this was our first trip here, and we did enjoy the resort, but it seemed like several areas on the outside of the hotel were falling into disrepair.

Fantastic family stay at the resort. Very happy with the room and beautiful views of the lake. You can tell they are intermittently updating the place which is great, needed. Several missed opportunities that I'm sure they will improve on in the future: They have one small propane fire place on the patio near the lake that is shared among ALL guests. So you better plan on getting there early or you'll likely not get to sit down amongst the 4-5 chairs. There is so much patio space and even a balcony beyond the lobby with insane views and no where to sit and appreciate it. FYI the fishing off the dock required barbless hooks so be prepared; that was harder to figure out since the nearby tackle store doesn't even sell those on the pier. But overall it's beautiful, staff is very friendly and the place is comfy and slowly updating. Last FYI, at the time of my stay the kitchen doesn't have a separate to-go orders prep area in the kitchen so anything you order will take much longer to receive. I ordered dessert one night (ice cream and brownie) and it took 20-30 minutes before it was ready. I ordered a side of bacon and sausage another morning and it was 25 minute wait. So be prepared to chill and enjoy the time between. Kids loved the pool and tons of parking available. Id totally come back.

Always a great time at Arrowhead Resort! Only bummer is the pontoon was still out of service, but kids still had a great time fishing off the dock!
