La Quinta Inn & Suites - accommodation in Laguna Beach

I was pleasantly surprised with Beachside Resort. I stayed here a couple of times as a child when it was The Grand Cayman hotel, and now as an adult, I've enjoyed it even more. It was really great staying further up from Pier Park. Beachside is nestled in Sunnyside beach and its probably the most quiet and safest area to visit in my opinion. We had an ocean view double queen room and I was really impressed with how big the room was. Not many hotels/resorts have rooms like that. It would be perfectly accommodating for a family of 4 for sure. But the room was clean and already cooled when we came in, so that was nice. I was kind of worried about the noise outside our room because we were right next to the main elevators, but we never were disturbed. The beds are firm, the wifi was about average speeds and we hooked up our Roku to stream and it never slowed. Of course the rooms are still a little bit outdated, bathrooms are much older and the rooms are carpeted, however for me, thats not a deal breaker. The pool was very nice and not crowded for the time of year, same goes for the hot tub. I do wish that someone would skim the waters at least once a day to keep down on the bugs that are in the pool. That would keep it cleaner. But the facilities are mostly clean and the reception area is very nice with items you can purchase and onsite 24 hr employees. The beach was great and didnt have to deal with a dumb jetski rental person. I would happily stay here again!

We stayed one night. And perfect spot for our kids. They had a blast!

I was charged from my deposit for towels I did not take. In fact I went to the front desk and picked up 4 more towels on my second day there. All the towels were left in the room. I called the front desk and they told me why I was charged $30. Anyone else experience this?
