Cozy Apartment with Stunning Sea Views, One Minute Walk from the Beach

This is our lovely 1-bedroom apartment in the beautiful Portuguese village of Praia da Luz. The building, a cute two-story condominium, is located in a beautiful garden with flowers and palm trees. The view from the apartment, which is on the first floor, is breath taking - overlooking the beach with the majestic Rocha Negra at the east end. The sandy beach is only a short walk away, and so are all of Luz's tasty restaurants. Whether you need a pharmacy, grocery store, bus stop or post office – everything is reachable within a few minutes. Not to miss the fabulous ice cream parlour next to the Fortaleza. Still you will find the area around to the apartment to be quiet and peaceful. It's the perfect spot for a holiday.

The apartment has one bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom, a kitchen with a pass-through bar and a lounge with access to the south facing balcony. Free internet is available through a wifi hotspot, and there are public parking spots both in front and the back of the house.

The kitchen and bathroom have been fully renovated in winter 21/22, including plumbing and electricity. The kitchen combines traditional Portuguese style with modern comfort: a custom built kitchen unit with Lagoa granite countertop, traditional tiles, brand new energy-efficient dishwasher and an induction stove. The new bathroom, which features a walk-in rain shower, has gorgeous hand-made Portuguese tiles on both the floor and the walls.

You will find a modern washer/drier and a brand new air conditioning at your convenience, and we have replaced all windows with double glassed quality windows in 2019. Please note that there is no TV and microwave in the apartment, and that the coffee machine is an Italian style coffee brewer.

This is the second time we have stayed in this flat. It is clean and simply furnished. Its view is wonderful and the location is very handy…literally steps to the beach, restaurants and bars, two grocery stores and the bus stop.

Tremendous location; close to beach, the promenade (with restaurants), grocery stores, etc. The view from the balcony was outstanding. The apartment was small but plenty of room for two people. The only negative was with the convection oven/stove top. The appliance itself didn’t provide any indication how to use it and no hard copy instructions were provided either. Fortunately we did not intend to do much cooking, otherwise it would have been an issue.

Lovely flat with awesome view

Comfortable, well-provisioned flat with an amazing view of the beach and cliffs in Luz. The bus stop, two grocery stores, the post office, restaurants and a beautiful clean beach are literally a few minutes walk away. We really enjoyed ourselves!

Perfect location, view and accommodation!

The apartment is beautifully laid out, all the required amenities are there like the umbrella for shade on the patio with a breathtaking view. Quieter area from the main drag but 5 minutes walk to everything. Highly recommend Real Pizza and Curry, Boaty’s for tapas, Bosman’s The Dolphin for a special dinner. The sunset is worth the 5 min walk to the outlook by the wall. Bring good tips for the talented buskers. The host was great to work with!

Fantastic Place

We would stay again. Communications were great for checking in and answering any questions. Location is ideal if you want to be close to the beach but far enough away to have some quiet. The private balcony is stunning. Well equipped very clean. Highly recommend.

Wonderful Stay in Luz

We loved this apartment in Luz. It's such a great spot. It's so close to the beach. And the view is AMAZING! The apartment had all necessary mod cons including beach towels/umbrellas etc. It was sparkling clean, a/c, good wifi, parking, close to many restaurants/shops & communication with Ralf was great. We had such a great holiday & will definitely return!

Spectacular Location

Spectacular location! The apartment was much larger than expected and has clearly recently been updated. Everything that we could have possibly needed was provided and easily located. The view of the beach was amazing! It was so great to be able to walk to all the many restaurants available in Luz. Having the outside spigot to wash off sand from the beach was so lovely! Really amazing rental that if you have the chance to book, you definitely should. We definitely plan to stay there again when we return on our next visit with family.

Property was just what we wanted and expected. Not luxurious or fancy but clean, safe, functional. Great view - as promised. Hard to slowly simmer rice on the gas stove. Wi-fi worked perfectly. Heating, when needed, worked well. Now if only one could rent sit-in kayaks in Luz and cruise along the cliffs........

Lovely sea views

My wife and I stayed for 7 days towards the beginning of November 2020 and were very happy with the apartment. Communication with the owner was prompt and clear, the apartment was clean and there were no problems whatsoever. We feel that the review of 3 stars given in June2019 was rather unfair. Yes the kitchen and bathroom could be considered to be a little dated but both are adequate and fully functional. There were no problems with the flooring while we were there. As in the owners response the following items all seemed very new and of very good quality-- washer/drier, a/c units(hot and cold), replacement windows, window shutters and internal blinds. We shall probably return in the future Thanks Ralf

Beautiful location and beach

The view from the balcony is exactly as seen in the photo and it is beautiful. We stayed for 8 days. There are a couple of things that might be nice for the apartment such as a microwave and a coffee maker. The maid services or Luz Services left alot to be desired. The number of bath and hand towels were insufficient. The first and only change of towels came on the 5th day of our stay and they did not clean the bathroom or anything else for that matter. The bathroom could use some upgrades to the tub, mirror cabinet and lighting. The stove is also very old and is gas. The flooring is also very old and needs replacement. The maids put away our dishes that were drying in the rack and took our recycle bottles but that was all. It was more important to us for clean towels at least every second day and have the bathroom cleaned at least once since we were there for 8 days. The hot water heater failed twice. They came right away to repair the first time but the second time took a call to the owner to get resolved. The air conditioning was very nice though and a blessing at times.

Comfortable, Clean, Ideally Located One Bedroom Apartment with Wonderful Sea View

Spent a wonderful trouble-free week in this very comfortable apartment located close to Luz Beach with all local amenities (2 supermarkets, several restaurants etc.) within a few minutes walking distance. Bus stop for Lagos/Burgau 1 minute away. Car parking no problem. Kitchen well stocked with pots, cutlery & glasses etc.. Cooking facilities fairly limited (no micro-wave oven) but restaurants/cafes at reasonable prices to suit virtually every taste available close by even in February. Excellent Wi-Fi reception but no TV (but who goes to Luz to watch TV ? ). Plenty places to visit with lots of local walks including one to Porto de Mos via the cliff-top obelisk overlooking Luz. If revisiting Luz or its environs would certainly consider staying again at this cosy apartment . The sea view alone is reason enough for doing so!

Comfortable apartment in relaxed, quiet resort

We stayed for one week at the beginning of February and were blessed with fine, sunny weather all week. We hired a car from the airport (drive4fun) and spent days sightseeing mainly in towns and villages in the west of the Algarve. We also did a couple of walks around Monchique and along the coastal path at Burgau. There were enough bars and restaurants open in Praia da Luz to provide variety for evenings out, even during this off-season period. The accommodation complex was very quiet and peaceful at night. The apartment was clean and comfortable with all necessary amenities and the extra heating was welcome on the chillier nights. Gaining entry was easy, as there was no need to arrange to meet someone at the apartment. There is plenty of off-road parking. The beach is just a short walk away as the photos show. There are 2 supermarkets a short walk from the apartment, the Spar was good and had everything we needed. The Portuguese people are friendly and helpful. It was an enjoyable week and I would definitely consider a return trip. Thank you!

Great price, great location & great service.

I stayed at the property for 5 nights with my girlfriend earlier this month. The apartment was really cool, with an AMAZING balcony overlooking the beach. Had a few questions for the owner during the holiday, and when I whatsapped him he replied virtually straight away. I also had a few questions prior to the trip and I feel that he went above and beyond to help me out. Highly recommend!!!!
