La Fortuna Water Park Hotels & Resorts

This place was busy, loud, and not well maintained. The room was very dark and outdated. There was music blasting late into the evening and trucks going by at all hours. The buffet breakfast was the worst food we had while in Costa Rica. There were lots of pools and some nice gardens on the property but tons of people. They made us put on two bracelets upon arrival, a paper in car window, and gave us plastic cards for towels. This place has too many rules. We were supposed to stay for 3 nights but quickly checked out and made another reservation. The hotel said they would refund me for the two nights we didn’t stay but they only partially refunded me. Stay far from this place. There are so many other very nice hotels in La Fortuna.

The hotel was beautiful…both inside and out. At night it looked even prettier. My husband was turning 65 so there was a handwritten note in room, along with desserts and wine. The staff always wore a smile. The buffet breakfast was delicious and I never got tired of eating it the 3 days we were there. Located 10 minutes from downtown Fortuna, where there are tons of souvenir shops, some restaurants and ice cream. Since I am a burger and fry girl , I had to try a burger from Costa Rica. Restaurante La Fortuneno (recommended by hotel staff) had the most amazing burger and ambiance. Even though we were in a beautiful rainforest and explored, the hotel quality mattered. Rainy weather can leave you feeling blah, so Royal Corin neutralized that feeling.

This property was better than the pictures online. Well maintained and beautiful environment. The thermal pools were amazing. There were wild turkey’s roaming the property that was a site to see. The staff were great. The view of arenal volcano is breathtaking. Just wish this was an all inclusive resort. I would stay here again.
