We absolutely loved our stay at Arenal Manoa. They went above and beyond to make our family feel welcome, including offering us a complimentary dinner on our last night at a restaurant of our choosing. The food was incredible, the location perfect, the staff warm and friendly, and the hot springs and pools exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend this property!

We stayed in a junior suite plus with a beautiful view of the volcano. Our patio looked out on a gorgeous manicured garden. Every staff member we met was friendly, kind and helpful. Although there are no cooking facilities, there is a fairly good size fridge which came in handy. We were able to purchase simple lunch ingredients from the Maxi Pali that we took with us on hikes. Would recommend Arenal 1968 and El Mirador Silencio hikes. Also loved the Bogarin Trail Sloth tour, the night tour at Arenal oasis, the free hot springs, and zip lining and walking the hanging bridges at Sky Adventures.

Overall I was very happy with the resort despite a couple of hiccups. The property itself is really beautiful. We stayed in unit 209 and have a fabulous view of the volcano and overlooked a grade with beautiful flowers. Nice private patio with 2 rocking chairs. The resort itself has flowers everywhere and the pool, thermals and restaurants are all in close walking distance. Con was problems with A/C and we had to call 4 different times (same day) to get it to finally be fixed (and even then remote did not work so could not turn down the A/C when it got too cold). Other con was when we first arrived there was a line of tiny bugs crawling up the wall. Called the front desk and they did their best to mitigate them while we were gone. But throughout the stay still had a couple here and there. Not a real problem as the bugs stayed in one area, and we could have called again but I didn't want them to spray anything while we were sleeping in that room. Check in was easy and quick. Pool overlooked the volcano and was really nice with swim up bar. We had desserts at the pool which were pricey but good. Only ate at the breakfast buffet so can't comment on other restaurants, but the buffet was extensive and fabulous, and the restaurant is open air looking out on green space and flowers. Upon arrival, found different chocolate bon bon type things waiting for us in the fridge, and on our anniversary had a towel animal w/rose and hearts on the bed. Overall would recommend.

Pura Vita - wonderful hotel

Absolutely beautiful hotel! We spent three nights and booked all of our tours and drivers through the hotel and everything was wonderful. All of our guides were knowledgeable and friendly. The hotel grounds are beautiful and the spas are lovely. We ate in all three restaurants and enjoyed all of our meals and the breakfast buffet had many choices. Costa Rican coffee is delicious and the service was outstanding. The room was very nice with a private patio where I could watch the birds each morning. The air conditioning cooled the room to a nice temperature. We had plenty of time to relax and go on adventures. I highly recommend this hotel. Pura vita!

My rating would be 9/10. This is a very beautiful resort with gorgeous view of the Arenal volcano Mountain. The resort is well kept with lots of plants and services. Hotspring and pool area are great and have good views. Check in and out was easy. Lots of privacy. Quiet and peaceful. My only two reasons I gave 9/10 instead of 10/10 are: 1) The food options for the free breakfast was very repetitive and boring. A few changing options, but good food. in the hot food section would be better. Overall, even the expensive dinner with stake and seafood options were not that tasty compared to food nearby by restaurants with much lower prices. 2) Considering how expensive the resort is and it’s quite beautiful view outside, I expected a bit more comfortable mattress. It wasn’t. Should upgrade the mattresses to resort level please. Please take the feedback as suggestions as they can come handy for the management service. My overall experience was great.

The view from the room of the Arenal volcano and the beautiful tropical gardens were amazing! We also loved the hot springs as well as the pools. Breakfast was plentiful with excellent choices. All staff were welcoming and most helpful. Would definitely recommend this property.

We had a nice stay at this property. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was wonderful. We had dinner twice at the property and the food was so-so. The rooms were dated and beds were not very comfortable. However the pool areas were well maintained. The hot springs were lovely as well but didnt not realize hot springs were not hot but more like "warm" springs. Easy 10min drive to La Fortuna. Would I stay here again? Probably not.

This property was perfect for our family. We wanted hot springs at the resort without a ton of people coming in from outside. Only hotel guests used the resort. The kids loved eating at the sushi restaurant while in a hot spring. It was also super safe. Kids could roam without worry. It was super quiet at night and we slept well. Loved it.

10 Hot Spring Pools

Great 10 Hot Spring pools! View from room was spectacular; but the walls between rooms was paper thin and if our bathroom door wasn't closed, we could hear our neighbors. This was also true with the shower...could not take a shower when our neighbors were due to lack of hot water. Good restaurant, excellent breakfast and VERY pleasant dining room. Plenty of fresh drinking water available. Nice walking around resort. Beautiful spa overlooking the river. Birds, flowering plants and iguanas abundant. Hope the hotel reception can replace their area rug soon...dirty and falling apart. Sushi bar and pool were outstanding for a smaller meal. Happy hours 4-5 and 5-6! Yes, highly recommend the resort. Don't be surprised by the gravel road that takes you there...

We loved having Manoa Arenal be our home base for our 3 days in La Fortuna! The grounds were beautiful, staff lovely, hot springs relaxing and quiet. We will absolutely stay there again when we go back to the area. Conveniently located to all the excursions we did.
