Nice place. Cockroaches problem.
The place is nice and full of authentic Japanese aesthetic touches. We liked the place.
The one major problem was cockroaches. On the 2nd of our 6 nights stay we found big cockroaches in the house, we got rid of some and communicated with management. We hardly slept that night, we worried about our 1 year old who was sleeping on the floor. Management was responsive and apologized for the situation. We asked them to relocate us but they were slow in doing so, so we found a hotel and moved to it sooner than they were able to find another property. They didn't offer to refund us, we didn't ask either, so we ended up double paying for that week in Kyoto and paying premium for a last minute hotel. We also lost a night of sleep and day packing and unpacking. Overall, I think management could have done a better job in fumigating the property ahead of our stay, and could have also offered to refund us at least for the nights we didn't stay there.
