Amazing view from the room of the Akashi Kaikyou bridge and fantastic breakfast buffet with both western and Japanese food. Luxury communal bath was also fantastic and appreciate it being open late with spa quality soap, shampoo, conditioner and a few lotions and cleansers. Peaceful location in mostly residential area but close enough by train to Tarumi, Akashi, Kobe and Himeji which all offer lots of dining and shopping options as well as sightseeing. Room amenities included pajamas, slippers all necessary toiletries, hair dryer, small fridge, electric kettle, cofee, tea, and bottled water. 10 min walk from Maiko station is a little uphill and may be tough in the summer heat with luggage, but short taxi ride is also an option from the station. There is an elevator that will get you up the final hill to the hotel, which may be hard to spot for first time visitors, so be sure to google the entrance elevator to find it.

Currently the closest Hotel location next to the Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge. Just a short Elevator/tram ride down to the park area. Note: If you get a room with the bridge view, those rooms will seriously heat up as they face west. Sure air-condition is available, but it will lose the cooling competition. Make sure the curtains are closed prior to going out (Japanese hotels switch off indoor power when you leave the room w/door keys)

My Japanese friend who lives in Kobe recommended this hotel and I am so happy to have followed her advice. The views of the Akashi Kaikyo bridge from the room (and the spacious bathroom) were stunning, especially at night when the bridge was illuminated. We had a corner room with a bathroom, in which a bathtub was on an elevated platform with a floor-to-ceiling panoramic view of both the bay and the bridge. The room was very quiet and spacious; the beds were comfortable. My sister and I really enjoyed a buffet breakfast at the hotel, and our visit to Arisugawa - a Japanese restaurant on premises, was memorable. We are already planning our return to Seaside Hotel Maiko Villa Kobe and next time, we will stay for longer. The hotel has a spa, which we did not have the time to enjoy on our most recent trip, and the area itself has so much to offer for pleasant walks on the promenade, in the park, and on the beach.
