Beautiful Condo and Grounds

This condo is definitely kept up well. The items in the kitchen make it very easy to do a quick breakfast every morning. The bed is extremely comfortable โ€“ โ€“ firm mattress with just the right amount of firmness. Kona Makai is in a very good location in Kailua Kona. This is our fourth visit to this area. There are ample towels in the unit. Watching the sunset from the pool area is like looking at a postcardโ€”simply BEAUTIFUL!!! Knutson & Associates is quick to respond to any minor concerns that arise.

Comfortable apartment close to Kailua-Kona

My wife and I stayed here for a week and it was a great base for us to explore the island. The property managers were communicative, efficient, and wanted us to have a good stay. Check in and check out went smoothly and the keypad entry saved us worrying about keys. There was some paperwork but it was routine. The condo was clean and comfortable. We barely needed the AC but it was nice to have at night. The lanai was comfortable - I appreciated the fan - although the sea view was narrow. But it was also easy to sit by the pool or shoreline and enjoy the view; every evening there were a handful of people there to enjoy sunset with. Other reviewers have mentioned strict property and pool rules but that was fine by us. None stopped other folks (including kids) from having fun in the pool or using the BBQs, and the evenings were quiet. And parking was always easily available. The condo was great for a couple looking for a comfortable stay at a very reasonable price, and I would be glad to visit again.

I do wish you had not listed this property as a OCEAN FRONT property. It has a thin sliver of a view of the ocean IF you lean over the railing in the lanai and cran your neck you may be able lucky. The main view is of the condos opposite the property.

Lovely place

Loved the push button entry! No keys to keep track of. Lovely bed, lots of pillows! Everything you need! Chairs, cooler, umbrella all here. Pool is wonderful( a zillion rules unfortunately posted) but very nice. Clean, great bbqs and area to eat by the ocean, lounges for sunset watching. 2 balconys!

Great vacation rental

This condo unit is a great place to relax and enjoy the best of Kona. Situated to get the best ocean views and awesome nightly sunsets, Kona Makai is an easy drive or walk along Ali'i Drive to the shops and restaurants of Kona. The unit has all the amenities required to make this an easy escape! Loved this condo and would highly recommend it.

We have rented in Kona Makai before. We just really love the layout of the property. The interior of some of the units is starting to deteriorate, for instance the ceiling in our shower was caving in due to previous water damage, but was relatively clean otherwise. The maintenance crew for the building exterior however is fantastic. Our suite was poorly equipped for a rental so we ended up purchasing a lot of basic tools such as tongs and a spatula, but we left them when we left so hopefully this isnโ€™t an issue for future guests.
