Perched along the crest of the Catoctin Mountains and nestled in a quiet wooded setting, Stone Leaf Farm is a warm and private mountain retreat offering winter stillness and refined comfort. Just under a mile from the Potomac River, the property feels peaceful and secluded, yet remains minutes from historic canal towns, local markets, dining, shopping and nearby wineries.

Our guesthouse has been thoughtfully re-imagined into two distinct luxury accommodations, each rented separately and fully self-contained. Guests may reserve the Luxury Mountain Cottage (upper level), the Luxury Mountain Suite (lower level), or both together at a combined rate.

Surrounded by forest, garden and mountain views, each space is designed for comfort, privacy and connection to nature. We warmly welcome mountain travelers—and their well-behaved pets—to slow down, unwind and enjoy the tranquility of Stone Leaf Farm. Upon entering the gated property, guests will follow the scenic paved driveway to their reserved accommodation.

Now available: The Upper Level - offered as the Luxury Mountain Cottage, featuring elevated living spaces ideal for couples, solo travelers, or extended stays, with room to comfortably host small adult families or groups when reserved together with the lower level.

The Lower Level is offered as the Luxury Mountain Suite (available in spring), providing a private, refined retreat perfectly suited for couples, solo travelers, or longer stays. Each space is rented separately as a fully self-contained accommodation, or guests may reserve both together at a combined rate to create a single, expanded retreat—while still preserving privacy and flexibility.

Guests can explore wooded nature trails, visit nearby waterfalls, gather around the fire pit circle, or unwind in their private outdoor space. The property offers a peaceful setting shaped by seclusion and ease, with keyless gated entry, on-site parking, high-speed Wi-Fi, optional early check-in or late checkout and a seasonal pool. Each space has a central air heating and cooling system.

The Vacation Rental(s):
Stone Leaf Farm, LLC offers two distinct short-term rental accommodations designed to provide privacy, comfort and a refined mountain experience. The Luxury Mountain Cottage occupies the upper level of the building, while the Luxury Mountain Suite occupies the lower level.

The Luxury Mountain Cottage (Upper-Level):
The luxury mountain cottage has a private entrance. This 1,100 sq. ft efficiency space is located on the upper level of the building and will be ideal for your stay. The upper level has a Large Great Room that measures 26’ x 22’, a vaulted ceiling, an upstairs Loft and a massive arch style “mill window” with views of the Forest and Japanese Garden. The Loft overlooks the Great Room and is a charming area uniquely designed as a quiet space for meditation, reflection, reading or prayer.

The upper-level cottage has a modern kitchen, with 2 pantries and a full luxury bathroom. Comfortably sleeps up to 4 Guests and offers plenty of sleeping and sitting space. There is a king size bed, two large very comfortable couches of which one can be turned into a queen size bed and an air mattress. The air mattress is provided for additional guests.

The Kitchen and Bathroom are separated from the living area. The kitchen has a gas range, microwave, toaster oven, refrigerator, dishes and cookware. The kitchen has plenty of counter space for food prep and casual dining. The dining area has a table with four comfortable chairs, a fixed bar table with 2 stools for quick meals or used as a buffet.

The sitting area is furnished and has a TV with internet access. Relax and enjoy your favorite movies and shows via your favorite network tv apps (Netflix, Prime, HBO, Disney). When accessing network tv apps, you are required to sign in and log out of your accounts. Free WIFI is available. There is a private bathroom, shower and closet space for linen and towels.

The Luxury Mountain Suite (Lower-Level):
The luxury mountain suite has a private entrance. This 325 sq. ft efficiency space is located on the lower level of the building. Carefully designed smart living space, perfect for a minimalist lifestyle. The main room seamlessly blends sleeping, living and dining areas, with a comfortable full-size bed and built-in storage shelves, maximizing your living space.

Comfortably sleeps up to 2 Guests and offers plenty of sleeping and sitting space. The designated living space boasts a plush lazy boy rocking recliner, a coffee table and a wall-mounted TV, while a small, round dining table with two chairs sits near the window, providing natural light and scenic views.

This unit has a modern kitchen design with a charming Caldera kitchenette featuring a European refrigerator-freezer, an induction cooktop, a stainless-steel sink with faucet, microwave, toaster oven, dishes, cookware and ample cabinet storage and counter space for food prep. A wardrobe armoire offers ample space for storing clothes and the separate, private bathroom includes a luxury shower, toilet and vanity.

The Orchards & Gardens:
The Orchards and Gardens at Stone Leaf Farm are thoughtfully maintained to support a sustainable ecosystem that nurtures balance among people, animals and plant life. Nestled within the surrounding forest, these spaces provide a natural habitat for a variety of wildlife, including birds, bees and butterflies. Bees and butterflies play a vital role as pollinators, helping plants reproduce and sustain a healthy ecosystem.

To help preserve this delicate environment, guests are kindly asked to remain on paved and clearly marked walkways, paths and trails throughout the property. Staying on designated routes helps protect vulnerable plants, wildlife habitats and the natural beauty of the orchards, gardens and forest.

All Seasons at Stone Leaf Farm:
Stone Leaf Farm is a true four-season retreat of beautiful rolling hills with mountains and valleys, known for inspiring lookouts and nature trails with each season offering its own unique beauty, atmosphere and activities. From vibrant summer blooms to peaceful winter snowfall, the property transforms throughout the year—inviting guests to slow down, reconnect with nature and enjoy the rhythms of the land.

Summer - is a season of warmth, abundance and lively energy. Bright blooms fill the gardens, fields come alive and a wide variety of birds and wildlife return to the property. Guests can enjoy the height of outdoor living, with long days perfect for exploring orchards, gardens and forest trails. During the summer season, the swimming pool is open and available (weather permitting) for private scheduled use.

Autumn - is widely considered the most breathtaking season at Stone Leaf Farm. Peak fall foliage typically occurs from late September through early October, though the display often lasts for many weeks. The forest transforms into a kaleidoscope of color, with leaves shifting from green to rich hues of red, orange, yellow, brown and purple—creating a truly unforgettable landscape.

Winter - brings a quiet, magical transformation to the property. Snowfall blankets the forest, creating a peaceful and tranquil setting ideal for rest, reflection and cozy stays. Year-round resident birds, including Northern Cardinals, remain active throughout winter and can often be seen foraging across the snow-covered grounds and visiting bird feeders.

Spring - is often the most beloved season at Stone Leaf Farm. As the land awakens, flowering trees bloom, songbirds return in full chorus and fresh greenery spreads across the property. The Rose Garden comes alive with vibrant colors and fragrant blossoms, while the entire landscape pulses with renewal, growth and energy.
