Lovely. Nice and quiet. The room photos online don't do the rooms justice. Homely.

If you like antiques and staying in the 1800's it is a good place to stay. Owner was very friendly, breakfast was good. Not to everyone's taste.

Historic comfortable accommodation in New Norfolk

Pros: The Old Colony Inn is one of a kind. One wonders what will happen to this business when the owners retire in a few years' time.
Cons: TV reception works well on some channels but not others. Narrow staircase to access breakfast room could be difficult for some travellers.
Location: Nineteenth century inn with modern comforts. Property has attractive garden and friendly resident cat. Off the main road but close to everything.
Not many places like this in Australia. A historic inn with only 4 rooms but with all the facilities that are needed for a comfortable stay. Very comfortable bed. Walking distance to town centre and dinner options. Good breakfast with excellent coffee.

Best choice of stay I’ve made

Pros: Good old hospitality.
Location: Close to town centre and river bank parklands.
The Inn exudes old world charm and this is backed up with old school, personal service and hospitality. Close to town centre and to the Derwent river bank views and walks. You won’t do better in New Norfolk.

Old Colony Inn

Very quaint establishment. Building is 200 years old and while the rooms reflect a bygone era they are clean and comfortable with updated bathrooms. Our host was friendly and professional and we enjoyed conversation with her. There was minor traffic noise as our room was closet to the road but really not a problem. The very reasonable tariff included a light but plentiful breakfast. Happy to recommend.

Lovely B&B

Lydia and James make you feel like part of the family. Rooms are comfortable and well provided, complimentary fresh fruit, Port and Sherry in every room. Breakfast was included during our stay. Dinner was reasonably priced and very tasty. Wine and Beers also well priced with a nice selection. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely old inn with a difference

Pros: Everything!
Cons: Cant think of a thing.
1830's vintage inn converted from a hop storage building with 3 foot thick walls! Lovely rooms / suites with antique but functional furniture (not the bed! very comfortable!). Lovely hostess with great meals - especially the lamb shanks.. Garden grown veggies and good sized meals. The antiques are very interesting and the village is quiet and surrounded by country in which hops are grown. Great base for sightseeing, fishing or wild hop hunting. Short and picturesque trip over the hills to Mona, around the highways to Bruny Island and short trip to Salmon Ponds. Everywhere is within reach if you hire a car...Eat at the inn - it is a great place to meet people of all ages, or to have a quiet evening.

A Piece of old time magic

Pros: Comfortable bed, the evening meal was one of the best we have experienced. The couple managing the B & B left nothing that could be improved on.
Cons: Perfect just the way it was.
Location: Mt. Field National Park - Russell Falls & the Horse Falls (Russell Falls being the most spectacular I have ever seen). The Salmon & Trout Hatchery.
Built in the early 1800's and lovingly restored, This was a visit year into history, From a continental breakfast left in your room containing a more than generous range of items, served on fine old bone china plates and tea service it left nothing to be desired. If you like old world stuff this is a place to place on your list of places to stay
