Hi Anonymous, Great that you enjoyed the privacy of the Huon Bush Retreats. Our large area of protected forest has meant that each cabin and tipee is in its own secluded setting, surrounded by nature. Please keep us in mind when you next want a private retreat in nature. Thanks Paul D

If you need to get away from technology this is it

Pros: Peace and quiet
Experience nature and peace and quiet. We had to talk and read as there was no phone reception or power for music or internet so if you need to get away from everything this is perfect.

Glad that you enjoyed the "nature and peace and quiet" in our forest cabins. Yes, this is a "getaway from everything" and a beautiful place to relax, explore and experience nature. Some people use the term "Digital Detox". Thanks for visiting and fro your review,

Very quiet and eco friendly Bush retreat.

Pros: Bush location, quietness and views.
Cons: Access but this may change the secluded natuew of the property.
Location: A place to unwind and stay on site for a few days. If you wanted to travel daily to tourist sites in the area there may be closer options.
Steep and narrow single road access that would be a challenge for 2 wheel drive vehicles. Very quiet and secluded location with great views over the Huon Valley. No 240 volt power but this was not a problem for our short stay. Comfortable accomodation. Big comfy wood heater for the colder nights.

Hi Peter, Thanks for your visit and review. Glad that you enjoyed the "Bush location, quietness and views". Our end of valley tranquility is protected by the 4km of gravel road. This is part of being a "Bush Retreat". As you correctly point out, if we were on the high traffic bitumen road, this would "...change the secluded nature of the property." Our 12 volt solar electricity also has USB for phone charging. 240 volt electricity can be provided if required for special purposes. Thanks for adding the photos to this review. They clearly show our unique feature which is the secluded forest setting. Cheers Paul D

Secluded Bush Cabin

Pros: Seclusion and being surrounded by nature.
Cons: Nothing. For the type of accommodation it is, it was perfect.
Location: Several kilometres north of Huonville in southwest Tasmania.
Very secluded cabin in the middle of the Huon Forests less than 1 hour from Hobart. Clean, comfortable and very relaxing. Access via 5km gravel road with some steep sections. Waking trails and magnificent forest scenery. No 240V electricity and therefore no TV or WiFi, but gas fridge and cooking facilities all adequate. Stayed 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Hi Greg, Thanks for your visit and your review. Looks like you wanted a nature focused eco-retreat. Glad that we delivered exactly that. Our seclusion at the very end of the valley means no passing traffic so the property is quiet and safe for wildlife without cages. Please keep us in mind next time you want to connect with nature

A nice, peaceful retreat.

A nice, peaceful place to retreat from the noise of the 21st Century. Seeing the wildlife up-close and personal was a treat and a privilege. The wood heater made the tipee toasty warm.

Hi Heather, Glad that you enjoyed "Glamping" (glamorous camping) in our deluxe tipee. As you discovered, being in a private clearing in our protected native forest, the tipees are a great way to get up close and personal with native wildlife. Because we are at the end of 4km of winding gravel road the wildlife is safe to roam without cages. The wood fired heaters are a lovely cosy bonus, especially on a cold evening. Looks like the tipee suited you perfectly but we also have cabins for people who want full self contained facilities. Thanks for visiting Huon Bush Retreats.

Off The Grid

I didn't realise we would be off the grid living for 3 days, something we are not used to. The serenity was amazing along with the views and wildlife. It was a comfortable stay but I probably wouldn't go back as this style of getaway is not for us. The cabin needs new couch the radio needs replacing as the aerial is missing.

Hello Anonymous, Glad that you enjoyed the serenity, views and wildlife. We live up to our name as a bush retreat and this includes being off grid. In fact this is our main attraction for most of our guests, the chance to relax, explore and experience nature. I have checked the radio - yes, someone has broken the antenna. Sorry about that, I'll get it repaired in the next few days. Thanks for your visit, Paul D

Nice Teepee. But everything appears tired

Difficult to find with GPS. Then nobody to orientate us to location of teepee. Left a map to ponder.

Hello Anonymous, Unfortunately, Apple based devices will send guests to the wrong road. We have tried to get this corrected but Apple will not change it. Android devices will bring guests direct to us.

Interesting

Should have a pitchure of the type of residence - teepee - you were getting. Thought it was a hotel of sorts. Especialy with the pitchures of a shallay on the discription.

G'Day Tarryn, We do have pictures of the teepees, both inside and outside. We also have pictures of our cabins, bushwalks, wildlife and forest. We do not promote ourselves as a "Hotel" We proudly call ourselves a "Bush Retreat". This is a place to relax, explore and experience nature. We understand that a bush retreat does not suit everyone. Some people are happier in the city. People who like nature and want to stay in eco-sensitive accommodation, will love Huon Bush Retreats.
