We thought the location was excellent in regards to being right in town. Restaurants and shopping were within walking distance with a park nearby to walk our dog. Parking was also very convenient and the staff was very nice. Kudos for the hot water and excellent pressure in the shower. Our room could have been cleaner with the floor feeling dirty to our feet. There was noticable dirt in the corners of the bathroom and overall there were cosmetic opportunites with our room. ( peeling wall paper, crooked light fixtures, squeaky beds) . Our room was located near the stairs leading to the second floor. Consequently, we heard the comings and goings of the other guests. Overall, I would have to say that our experience was just OK when considering the room rate.

lighting was poor, drains were clogged, floor was dirty and the chair to the desk broke two times while we were there. It took two days to get the first chair fixed, and the second one brook 5 minutes after it was delivered. there is much more, but I don't have time to get into details.

Time for a Serious upgrade

I stayed at this property years ago. It is run by different people now and they are not locals. The front desk personnel was a young Indian (from India) woman and is seriously lacking in customer service skills. There is no onsite management personnel of this hotel, the managers and operators do not live in Gunnison. The outside of the property was dirty and the overall appearance of this property is tired and run down. The room interiors were not much better. They looked the same as when I stated there many years ago. Also there was a discrepancy in what I thought I was paying and what I was charged for my one night stay. I ended up paying almost $200 for one night. This property was NOT the price I was charged.
