The pros - the lobby seemed to be recently updated and the front desk staff was friendly. The grounds were beautiful and the location is great. The cons list is unfortunately a lot longer. They claim to be “dog friendly” but we did not feel that was the case. I understand requiring a deposit upon checking in but in addition we also had to review and sign a page and half of rules during our stay with a lots of borderline threatening language. It was more, “your pets are allowed on the premises but we will not be accommodating towards them.” The room is also in desperate need of updates. The wood floors were scratched and scuffed and unfortunately not as clean as they should be. The lamp shades were held on to the lamps with zip ties and some were falling off entirely. There was no soap in the bathrooms to wash your hands and the tissue box had 2 tissues left so we ran out the first day. The bed was the worst part. I’m the first one to say I prefer a firm mattress, but these were horrendous. It squeaked constantly with any slight movement and was so hard and uncomfortable both my husband and I woke up with sore backs. There were also holes in the walls were I’m sure art used to hang and it just made the room feel extra worn down. I’m sure with some updates and attention to details, it would earn a higher rating but unfortunately we won’t be back.
