We stayed in a bunkhouse and it was AMAZING!!! We loved the fan, mini fridge, heater, beds, bedding, bathrooms were super tidy and comfortable. Showers were spacious, tidy and free. Bring a shower caddy for easiest use!

Great stay

For the price, location, and privacy this was perfect for me. I stayed in a bunkhouse after Labor Day weekend, so off season. The bunkhouse was clean enough and large, I was surprised it had electricity with light, a fan and a fridge. Very quiet, couldn’t hear the other campers nearby. The bathrooms and showers were shared but clean and I rarely saw anyone else when I used them. To get into the park is a drive regardless of where you stay, unless you get a space in the park itself so I was prepared for that (it’s about a 50 min drive to get to Yosemite valley most trail as a reference). A short walk away was a gas station with food basics and souvenirs. Good for Tuloumne meadows branch off if you’re trying to explore there.

Deceptive Listing, Rude Staff, and Nightmare Stay

We booked expecting a cozy yurt-style bunkhouse, as shown in the listing photo. What we got was a misleading description and a bait-and-switch. Upon arrival, staff ignored us—one was helping someone, the other stared at a screen and didn’t even acknowledge us. When he finally spoke, his exact words were, “I guess I’ll have to help. What can I do for you?” We were given incorrect directions to our cabin and had to return to the desk for help. The actual cabin was nothing like the listing—it felt more like a horror movie set than a glamping experience. Windows didn’t open, and the area was sketchy. Despite rules against campfires, people were burning fires freely. Staff shrugged it off, saying they “have to man the desk and ranger the areas.” That logic is baffling. We left after one night, refusing to stay the second. Now we’re being overcharged. This place feels like a scam, not a legitimate business. Renters beware—Yosemite Lakes RV Resort is a money grab, not a getaway.

Our property door lock was broken and that made us feel unsafe the first night the lock was fixed by the property maintenance team but it took about 3 hours which wasted our time ., . There was water leakage also in the kitchen sink , and the bathroom sink wasn’t draining the water appropriately.

Overall, we had a good stay. Our cabin was nice, clean and had all the amenities we needed for a few days. The office staff is very nice and helpful. The property itself is in need of a lot of maintenance especially the cabins. There is no cell signal (at least for Verizon) and Wi-Fi is only available in 2 main buildings. We really only wanted signal for maps, weather, the occasional check-in at home, and safety (bears and fires are a concern). I am torn on whether or not I would stay here again.

Our family enjoyed our first Yurt stay here for a few days in Yosemite. Great location to the parks, great amenities and beautiful grounds. Our Yurt was a little dated and had some water leaking from the AC, and water pipes underneath, but that aside the condition was older but well taken care of! We would stay here again.

thousand trails short on staff ! they had sewage spill in the facility and told all campers river was off limits ! beacause there error yet river was open short way away under usfs ran area.they used to have nice swim area no more and the area is covered to weeds and willows no access.place has beed going down hill for years our family has been going there for 25 years we are looking for a new place ! ty john h concord ca

Before booking this cottage, there are a few important points to consider to avoid frustration or disappointment. First, most mobile carriers have no signal in the area. The cottage does not receive any Wi-Fi, and although the property guide mentioned paid Wi-Fi, we were unable to connect at all. There was a phone number provided, but we couldn’t call due to lack of signal. The only places with working Wi-Fi were the Welcome Center and the laundry room. There was no hairdryer in the cottage. Also, the refrigerator didn’t work well. The freezer, even at its coldest setting, was only as cold as a typical fridge. We tried to freeze water in an ice tray for two nights, but it remained liquid the entire time. We arrived at around 8:40 PM on the check-in day, but the Welcome Center was already closed, although it was supposed to be open until 9:00 PM. Keys and instructions were left in separate racks outside, and they weren’t clearly labeled. The instruction sheet had our name, but the key envelope had no identification. It took some guesswork to find the right one. The check-out process outside business hours was also confusing. A sign on the Welcome Center door pointed to a drop-off area, but the actual key box wasn’t labeled. It was inside a box marked only as “Call Box,” which we had to open to discover where to leave the key. While the cottage itself was clean and the surrounding nature was beautiful, the overall guest experience lacked clarity and convenience. Better sig

Cabins are absolutely filthy. It felt like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. Provided bedding had a sticky substance on it and smelled like weed. Kitchen cookware and utensils dirty. Floor cakes dirt. Had to walk around with sandals on and put sheets on the couch to feel remotely comfortable. WiFi is not free and does work. Would never stay here again.

I really liked the little cabins which they call Bunk houses but in the late afternoon and early evening they were quite hot inside. The bathroom was quite new and clean. We enjoyed our stay.
