Manitou Lodge is perfectly situated in Forks, Washington. Our accommodations provide guest rooms, cabins and camping on ten acres of coastal rainforest, just 3 miles from Rialto Beach, and 15 minutes west of Forks. Manitou is what a lodge should be – wood, stone, a Great Room with a massive stone fireplace, vaulted ceilings, and furniture you can put your feet up on. Nights in our forest are silent except for the distant rush of the Sol Duc river and occasional interruptions by coyotes and owls.
Originally built in 1970, our Forks WA Lodging is a built around a classic lodge structure whose most striking feature is a huge vaulted-ceiling Great Room with a massive stone fireplace. The numerous couches and chairs in this room provide the space to be with others, and, at the same time, to be private. The Lodge also is home to our lovely Gift Shop which features Native American and Pacific Northwest art, decor, jewelry and more.
Step Outside and Experience the Pacific Northwest
Situated on ten acres of coastal rainforest, our Forks WA Lodging is just about as far west as you can get in the lower 48 states. The property’s hemlocks and spruce are still imposing, and there’s a Western Hemlock on the property well over 1000 years old. The grounds include wonderful trails, bits of whimsy and lovely spots to picnic.
Summer is a delight with sunshine and temperatures that rarely rise above 80 F. With winter come the fish. Local rivers (Sol Duc, Bogachiel, Calawah, Hoh) offer world-class salmon and steelhead fishing. We also experience powerful winter storms which shape our coastline. It’s worth a dose of rain and wind in the face to witness one of these, especially when a couch, fire and warm bed are just a couple of minutes away.
SELF CHECK-IN: Any time after 3pm (no early arrivals, please). Find the card with your name on it at the front door and follow check-in instructions inside. With the convenience of self check-in at our Forks Washington accommodations, you can take your time and arrive at your convenience.
There is something for everybody any time of year in the Olympic National Park and Forks Washington. Explore wilderness beaches such as Rialto Beach, hike in the moss-draped beauty of the Hoh rainforest, fish the plentiful rivers of the region, or enjoy sightseeing. Forks is also the setting for the Twilight Saga, and hosts the Forever Twilight Festival every fall.
We’re located just a 45 minute drive from the Hoh Rainforest and Sol Duc Hot Springs, and about an hour from Cape Flattery (most Northwestern point in the lower 48 states) and the Makah Reservation and Cultural Museum at Neah Bay. Rialto Beach, spectacularly rugged and log-strewn, is just 3 miles away. The Quileute Tribe resides 9 miles away at La Push, as well as First Beach at LaPush and Olympic National Park’s Second and Third Beaches (not to be confused with Beaches 1-3 south of Kalaloch).
Rialto Beach, the only drive-to beach in the immediate area, is a spectacular, driftwood-strewn beach on the north side of the Quileute river about 3 miles from the Manitou Lodge. The surf is generally heavy, the driftwood logs huge, and the sunsets are magnificent. The Rialto crescent extends for about 1.5 miles and ends with two towering sea stacks, tidal pools, and “Hole-in-the-Wall”, a surf-carved tunnel in a headland. The 18 mile hike north from Rialto Beach to Cape Alava is a favorite with backpackers.
First, Second and Third Beaches extend south from the mouth of the Quileute River. These beaches are long, flat crescents popular with photographers due to sea-stacks (a well-known sea-stack complex, the “Quileute Needles”, lies just offshore), tidal pools, and eagles. Access to Second and Third Beaches requires hikes of 0.5 to 1.5 miles, respectively. The headlands at First Beach and Second Beach can’t be passed, but one can backpack south from Third Beach along the coast for about 17 miles to Oil City.
The Hoh Visitor Center is about 30 miles from us, and the Hoh Rainforest is possibly best known attraction in the Olympic National Park. Average annual rainfall in the Hoh Valley is in excess of 150 inches, and has a spectacular effect on the vegetation. Along the “Hall of Mosses” Trail, the moss-draped maples are extravagantly green year round, so much so that somebody has written that the air appears to be jade-colored. The Spruce Trail follows the glacier-carved Hoh river maple and red alder “bottom”. Scenic raft trips are available in summer along the Hoh River, and guides can be contracted throughout the year for fishing and scenic trips.
Other regional activities near Forks Washington include world-class fishing, mountain-biking, hiking in the Olympic mountains and along the wild beaches that comprise the Pacific Coast portion of the Olympic National Park, or a visit to Cape Flattery, the most Northwestern point in the lower 48 states. A boardwalk recently completed by the Makah Nation, on whose lands the Cape sits, has considerably eased the hike. The views of the Straits of Juan de Fuca, Tatoosh Island, and Vancouver Island from the Cape cliffs are inspiring. While visiting the Cape, you won’t want to miss the outstanding Makah Cultural Center and Museum at Neah Bay. These are just a sampling of the possibilities on the West End. For a more comprehensive look, consult some of the links listed below and visit the Forks Chamber of Commerce Five Day Guide to the West End. Twilight fans won’t want to miss a stop in Forks, WA.

We stayed in the lodge with at least one other family in the building. However, our suite was very quiet and secluded. It was a beautiful space and well-kept with privacy (as needed). Great get-away to feel like you truly are away from the world!

First off this place isn't a lodge. It is one building with a huge main room with soaring beamed ceiling and giant stone fireplace, old leather furniture etc. But the rest of the building is made up of tsimple rooms that are adequate but sort of funky. Plus no staff are on site. We were there 2 nights and never saw a staff person. I texted one and asked about getting some ice but they don't have an ice machine in the lodge. For people who like solitude I think this place works but if you want some of the perks of most hotels this is not the place for you.

Forest fun in forks
Check in was easy. There was an envelope with my name hanging outside. This had the card with codes to get in our room. The main lodge code was sent in an email. The small in room kitchen was perfect for having coffee in the room or the private patio. We enjoyed coffee with the chickens and a duck that thought he was a chicken. The cats were very sweet as well. The property was very lush and green. Gorgeous green trees surrounding every inch. Thanks for the great relaxing stay.

We really enjoyed our stay here while visiting Olympic NP. It's a few minutes from Forks, very convenient to the La Push area beaches and to the Hoh Rainforest. The lodge is very clean and quiet and in the rain forest, as advertised. Our Cedar Suite had 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, very comfortable for the three of us. We enjoyed the Keurig coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave. There are a few dishes so we were able to have simple breakfast in the room, then we had to wash our dishes in the bathroom to use them again the next morning - no big deal. There was a nice private patio with table and chairs (and a friendly cat!) but the patio area hadn't been kept clean, so we drank our coffee around the corner on the main lodge porch, which is very nice.

Filthy & uncomfortable
Filthy! In need of a serious overall construction. The outside furniture was all filthy. There was cats, geese & chickens pooping on the patios outside. We had dogs which barked at the animals. In the common area it smelled musty & old. Big hole underneath the bathroom sink. We were told we could wash our dishes with the bucket under the bathroom sink. The wash bucket & dish cloth under the sink had mouse poop on them. Screen door wouldn't latch & was gapped at the bottom. The arcadia screen was damaged at the bottom. No tv or AC. The bed & kitchen chairs were sqeeky. No ice machine. Microwave did not work. Open outlet with bare wires. The plugs were loose & it was difficult to keep things plugged in. The games were missing peices. There was water pouring from the upstairs shower into our light fixture above our bed. We decided we could not stay any longer. The manager was extremely nice & tried to help with some complaints. The manager,Justin, agreed to let us out of our booking. He said we would be compensated starting the 11th-13th.We checked out 2 days early. Overall it was a very uncomfortable stay.

Property is quiet and remote. A bit old but has a certain charm to it. Price was a bit high imho but not a lot of options out that way.

Nice quiet property but the room was far from clean. Moldy fridge, lights leaking brown sludge, dirty floors and questionable sheets. We stayed because we had already paid and didn’t have a choice, would have liked to have a clean room at least though.

Gorgeous lodge
Had a lovely time at the lodge. There was a complication with the downstairs suite we originally booked and we were generously accommodated with the upstairs Lady and Lily rooms instead. The lodge was beautiful and felt very private.
We were lost once we arrived at the lodge. Other guest had to educate us, just like we had to educate other newcomers

Gorgeous lodge and room for a great price
We really enjoyed our stay...the lodge and our room were absolutely beautiful, with a lot of cool stuff in the main hall. And we loved being greeted by all the animals. Thanks so much for a relaxing time!
Everything was great but shower head needs fixing.

We rented the two bedroom, one bath property. Note that the one bathroom is in one of the bedrooms. And, also note that these bedrooms are rooms in a shared space so you will likely have other guests under the same roof.
The property doesn't have any food services on site. The closest restaurants are in Forks which is about a 15 minute drive, with the exception of Three Rivers Resort Restaurant that is 5 minutes away. Three Rivers Restaurant is primarily a to-go place.

Lodge apartment near Forks
We picked this location to be near Forks and be able to explore Olympic. It was fairly close to town . It is not your typical lodge. There was no one on site except the people staying in the apts. There was plenty of room, but it is outdated with very old carpet in the one bedroom. The shower had good pressure, but it also sprayed water all over the floor outside the shower. It was very pricey for what you got.

Cute, Fun, Rustic, Tranquil, And It Has Everything!
The Cedar Suite at Manitou Lodge was a great place to stay. We liked that it had a kitchenette so we could make coffee in the morning, keep our drinks cold in the fridge, and store food on the little shelf. Dishes were provided, as well as a comfortable table and chairs. The beds were comfortable and the couch & lounge chair were great for relaxing when you didn't want to sit on the bed. The decor was perfect for the atmosphere. I appreciated that there were lots of options for lighting so you could make the room as dim or as bright as you wanted. We loved cracking the window at night to hear the frogs chirping outside. There's no AC but you don't need it--we ended up turning on the heat even though it was June. The lodge itself is gorgeous. The large common room has everything you could want if you are looking for something to do, and there are plenty of places to sit, walk, and look around both indoors and out. I wish we had more time just to spend hanging out in the common room. We absolutely loved our stay here. We thought the place was very clean, which is important to us. The only thing that we didn't like was a sort of musty smell in the room, perhaps due to the age of the facility and the fact that it's a wooden building in a rainforest so nothing ever fully dries out. People with allergies should know that there are cats on the property. A hair dryer was provided, which is essential in this humid climate! Thank you for a beautiful, fun, and special place to stay.

Loved it here. Wish we had more time to enjoy the surroundings.
We are in cedar room and we occupied the main lodge and it was fantastic even the weird shower knob located outside the shower become very interesting. It is in the middle of no where but still glad we choose this place. For new experience and love it
