The hotel was very nice, incredible terrace views of the duomo and had very hospitable staff. The breakfast selection was great as well. Our room was a good size. I only subtracted a star because the bed was a bit too stiff and the heat wasn’t quite warming up to what I set it to.

Old style but impeccably kept hotel. Like the good old days and it is well located, just two blocks from the train station and three blocks from the Duomo. The rooms and hotel in general are beautiful. The operation is run great and the service is very efficient but don’t expect to get any smiles from the personnel. They do their job, well done but there is a lot of arrogance still. Also the rooms don’t have easy access plugins. I have to use only the one in the bathroom, the others are behind heavy furniture. But I managed fine. The rooms have stocked mini bar that is all complimentary and they do the turndown service adding the chocolates on the pillows (like the good old days of hospitality). But all been said, amazing place, amazing hotel I will definitely come back every time I go to Florence. Loved the attention to details.

The location of the hotel is excellent — very convenient and close to everything. The reception staff were also great: friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. However, I was quite disappointed with a few aspects. Although the minibar items were complimentary, I was surprised to learn that extra bottles of water were not free. Not only did I have to pay for them, but I also had to call both the bar and room service to find out how to get them. When I finally reached someone from room service, I was told that I had to go up to the 5th floor to collect the water myself. Only when I arrived there did I find out that the water was chargeable — quite inconvenient and confusing for a 4-star hotel. Cleanliness was also not up to standard. When I first arrived, I noticed two strands of hair in the sink, which was disappointing and gave a poor first impression. The hotel itself feels rather old. I stayed on the first floor and paid extra for a garden view, but throughout the night I could hear the sound of water running through the pipes, which made it difficult to sleep. Overall, while the location and staff were great, the cleanliness, facilities, and room quality didn’t meet my expectations for a 4-star property. If I were to stay again, I’d avoid paying extra for rooms with additional “facilities,” as they didn’t really add much value to the experience.

Nice breakfast selection with beautiful views over Florence. Hotel is very dark and moody - kind of place Dracula would stay. Makes it a bit difficult to see belongings in the room. Very clean and everything in good condition. Large spacious room with big bathroom. Shower is over bath, with a very slippery floor, no room for handrail and bath has steep sides that have no place to sit shampoo etc. No full length mirror and weak hairdryer. Weirdly despite the large bathroom the toilet is placed up against a curtain. Reasonable amount of street noise which doesn’t bother me but would some. Very convenient location for tourist activities. Safe area. Enjoyed staying here as a woman on my own.
