This truly was a tale of two properties.
On the plus side, the physical property was fantastic. We booked an ocean-side room with a balcony -- and the view of the sunrise each morning was spectacular. Dining room, pool area, and fitness center were all first rate.
However, the staff and service left *a lot* to be desired. Just a few examples: Our room was not ready at 4:00 and the front desk staff didn’t seem particularly concerned with finding a solution. The lobby bartender disappeared at closing time so we couldn’t properly close out our tab with a tip. The Chill Bar was a disorganized mess (staff wasn’t sure if they were open or closed; got someone else’s bill - and there were only two other couples in the bar!).
I understand this is a new property; they’ve got a lot of wrinkles to iron out.
