Lovely place, nice room and breakfast. The spa was good (didn't try the gym). From a distance the grounds looked good but it was winter and dusk when we arrived so didn't see fully. The staff were outstanding, so friendly and courteous. Good location, 9 minutes drive from the park and ride. I'm only going to rate them 4.9 out of 5 though, as I'll deduct 0.1 points for no baked beans with my full Yorkshire breakfast ;)

First of all I have to mention Stephen, he’d only been working at the hotel 2 weeks but it didn’t show. He knew exactly how to fulfil his role as we were shown round. The house and rooms are beautiful and well laid out. Service perfect from start to finish. Breakfast was wonderful as was the spa. We had a very relaxing stay and will be back again when the weather is better to enjoy the garden. Thank you again.

The gentleman who showed us to our room could not open the door despite having the key so we stood in the corridor whilst he went off to find a colleague to help. Not a great first impression. However, it is a lovely house, elegant, comfortable and the staff are at ease and welcoming. The food wind and service in the restaurant faultless. Would definitely come back

Middlethorpe Hall is peaceful beautiful elegant country House full of charm. The surroundings inside and out are spectacular. The staff discreetly attentive and charming. Dining options allow formal or informal dining. The Spa offers good quality treatments and the whole experience left me refreshed, relaxed and delighted to have spent time there. Excellent and unique.

Fabulous experience

Middlethorpe Hall and Spa is a fabulous hotel, one of three owned by the National Trust in the UK. It is set in beautiful grounds and garden. Staff are very welcoming and friendly, the room was spacious and well furnished and the bed was large and comfortable. We had breakfast included in our stay and they catered for most people. Getting into York without using the car was a bonus as the 11 bus has a stop right outside the main driveway entrance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
