The man on reception was polite and helpful. Our room was OK but when we came back to it on the second afternoon it had been flooded- very badly. Any of our stuff which was on the floor was soaked. I reported to reception and we were quickly moved to another room which was fine but it was hard to dry our stuff. No-one checked to see if we were OK or explain (in fact I think they thought it was our fault- that we had left a tap running for example. But we are sure we had not and in any case, that surely would not have caused the amount of flooding that occured). The pool and steam room were nice but the rest of the hotel looked uncared for with heaps of junk piled outside. Also, no restaurant so not only no evening meal but no breakfast and the hotel is some distance away from anywhere else to eat. Is this place being run down prior to closure? A shame as it used to be quite a smart hotel.
