I was disappointed with my stay at the Westin Southfield/Detroit. I definitely expected everything to be nicer. First, my room had a terrible smell. Two of the doors were missing on the dresser and there wasn’t a light over/near the shower, so it was very dark. Then, the fire alarm went off at 10:30pm, and everyone was told to evacuate the building via the stairs. I got down to the 2nd floor (from the 9th) before someone announced that it was a false alarm. Not necessarily the hotel’s fault, but this was very annoying when I was already in bed for the night. Lastly, the food I ordered from room service was terrible. I paid $30 for a tiny, fake (Tropicana) orange juice, a cheap plain bagel with a tiny container of cream cheese and a yogurt parfait. I expected much better from a Westin hotel. I will not be staying there again.

I usually stay at the Airport Westin. The Southfield location was just a beautiful. Honestly the amount you charge for the stay should at least include parking. No matter what I still enjoyed my stay and will definitely stay again.

The carpet on the stairs was worn away. I booked a room with a walk-in shower. When I got there, they said they don’t have any rooms with walk-in showers. Had to park in the parking garage next-door, which was scary had to walk down the ramp, which was all cracked the concrete to get back to the hotel. The lobby smelled like weed. Never will stay here again.

The front desk staff was excellent. The hotel management staff was not. After my stay, I reported that there was no closet in my room. The management, over email, told me I was wrong. I was not. Took a hostile tone and did not amend once he discovered I was correct. The property is run down.

I stay in this hotel frequently for weekends . Never any issues until now . A very unfriendly woman informed me at 1:45 that check in is at 3 ( I prepaid for my room) I was to attend a meeting and needed a room sooner . Never in the last 20 years I had this problem that she wouldn’t find an early check in even if I paid for it . She wasn’t nice about it either . So I will think twice before staying there again . Sorry .

If you want comfort, class, and great customer service - this is the place to stay. Westin Southfield is located in a great area: near restaurants, shopping, and just 30 minutes from Downtown Detroit.

Severely UNDERstaffed. The daytime staff were all EXCELLENT! When nighttime came, HORRIBLE! TERRIBLE! UNACCEPTABLE Customer service. Even a couple were incompetent. I gave up at night. (As Omar on Everybody Hates Chris would say…) ”tragic…TRAGIC!”
