The hotel was an absolutely great value. Nice clean simple room, and the staff at check-in was super helpful. I left really early in the morning so really didn't have much of a chance to see what was around. There was a few convenience stores for quick snacks and a short drive away was some fast food restaurants

This place is very gross and run down. We just needed a clean place to stop and sleep for the night. Our room was not what we booked. It was a run-down smoking room with only one bed. The other guests were long-term folks living at this dump. Lots of noise and creepy people. The pillows were flat and gross. The bed was uncomfortable with stained comforters and sheets. Didn't feel at all comfortable or safe. On the positive side, I don't think we got bed bugs as far as I can tell.

I have never stayed in such a run down nasty hotel. It’s by the highway, and you hear it loud and clear. Never again. Traveled to Winterset after leaving Des Moines stayed a a hotel called Cobblestone it was beautiful, very clean, free breakfast, great service, bar. For a few dollars more than the hotel in DesMoines. I will stay there from now on, even though it’s an hour outside of DesMoines.

The staff is very nice and very understanding. The only thing I didn't like was I had to walk quite a distance to get food because I didn't have a car. But the owner or the main manager I think he's the owner was helpful and did offer a ride but not to me because he didn't know I needed a ride

This place is a dive. Ghetto as it can get. These pictures must have been taken when it was brand new. They have people living there and they definitely feel at home. All night long it sounded like a herd of cattle walking in the room above me. Around midnight a woman and a man were arguing. Every cuss word you could imagine came out of the woman's mouth. I wasn't expecting a 5 star hotel, but I was expecting more than this. Do yourselves a favor and pay the extra money and get a nice hotel. This will be my last time going to any Motel 6.
