I really enjoyed Shaker Village very much. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Room was lovely and bed was fantastic. The only thing I would have liked is if I didn’t have to make reservations for meals. The food is wonderful! I just felt that because I was paying to stay there, I should have access to breakfast as an onsite patron. The other option would be to have a simple and minimal continental breakfast for those that can’t get seated at specific times. Again, wonderful experience.

We reserved a double room. Upon assignment it was found 1/2 cleaned. There were no sheets on the beds, no towels, & the floors were dirty, so they reassigned us quickly to a king/twin room. That room was clean & just as pictured online. It would be a great place for a peaceful weekend stay. The surroundings are serene. The walkways can be tricky, as can be the steps, due to the age of the property. Keep this in mind if there are stability concerns.

This property is like staying in Colonial Williamsburg. It is very old. The floors creek, the pipes sing in the night and there is little to stop any noise coming from other rooms. Beware the nails sticking out of the ancient hardwood floors! This is not very accessible if you have walking issues. Lots of uneven pathways. The drive out there is scary at night! Do not take the fastest route to get there from the airport- take the straightest way. But the place is exceptionally quiet and peaceful. It is beautiful and interesting from a historical point of view!
