We arrived after a big storm. The power and internet were down. The bistro was full if hungry cold people who came in from the snow wanting food. Checkin info and eftpos were not available. The staff were amazing. They deal with all issues in a calm friendly professional way. All worked out in as team all worked together to make everyone comfortable, warm and soon fed and settled. What a team! Great place! Incredible environment.

Expensive for what you get but worth it for the location

Cabin was a bit of a trek from the main lodge, but we didn't mind that because it meant we had privacy from other guests. Always fun to see wombats and other wildlife around the property. Laundry facilities were a lifesaver after trekking through the national park in inclement weather throughout the day. Some miscommunication with staff re what is required to access the park - we had a valid park pass but wasn't told we needed a shuttle bus ticket. Breakfast food options were limited (coffee machine broken!) but the restaurant and tavern had amazing food.

It was a nice room and clean. You pay for the location of this place not for what you get. There is a heater in the room to help make it toasty from the cold. You can get wifi at reception and restaurant. No TV or Wifi in the rooms being in Cradle mountain unless you are with Telstra there is no reception. The tavern food was very nice. If you like staying in the remote wilderness and close to cradle mountain this is the place for you!!

The location is perfect! The huts, or at least the one we stayed in was well located on the property to feel entirely isolated and amongst nature. Unfortunately all who arrive are a captive audience. There is a small and incredibly expensive shop on the site but it doesn’t sell much. Alternatively you eat at the restaurant or tavern where meals are ok, but not great. In the restaurant you must have a 2 or 3 course meal which promotes food waste. There are no cooking facilities in the huts other than a kettle. Breakfast is provided, but it’s of a poor standard. There is no wifi or television in the huts, which would be ok except that the facilities are poor. The couches are old and tired, small and not comfortable. There are no board games provided in the huts, and the lighting is terrible - just overly bright white down lights. Other than finding a space in the small, badly planned reception area or tavern, there are again no other options when you’re not out walking or in the evenings. More disappointing is the way the huts are designed - single glazed windows, only some of which are openable and clearly no insulation, so the fires are on most of the time and huts lose heat at pace. In a world heritage site, one would think greater environmental stewardship would be mandated in this day and age. Overall we loved our trip because the hiking is extraordinary and the wilderness pristine. I would not recommend staying at the Cradle Mountain Lodge.

Staff where the best part of our stay. They were excellent. professional. Helpful . Nothing was to much trouble. Cheerful. No wifi except in a public lounge . Thus experiencing a lack of privacy both for oneself and I didn't want to listen to other zoom meetings with out head phones. The room was average for the price. With out room service or any media accessible in the room. Great staff ! Well run.
