Hotel had the personal touch such as bottled water and flowers in room, good service, pleasant environment and a non-chain. Building was from 1717, which is pretty cool, but you would never know it going by the room which was spacious with plenty of amenities. Free continental breakfast and dogs being allowed is a plus. When in that area again (which I am at times), I'll now know the best place to stay.

Very Quaint Inn

It was such a a quaint inn! It has been around since the Revolutionary War! The lobby & staircase looks very much like how it would have looked back then! But the rooms are very modern! For Outlander fans Colts Neck was mentioned in the show and had an Inn similar to this one! The staff was very friendly! And we met a very nice lady when we checked in named Karen! It has a handicapped ramp and beautiful doorway! It looks like all the original wood! They are pet friendly & even have some animals that live there! A couple cats & birds! They were even filming a movie when we were leaving! The only draw back was the water in the shower had an odor to it! But we will definitely be back!

Colts Neck Inn: Charming NJ Stay

Colt's Neck Inn was great! It has a very homey, welcoming feel, with a gas fireplace in the high ceilinged entrance hall, beautiful plants on the porch and old school dark wood trim. The free bike "rentals" is a great perk too!

This hotel needs some serious upgrades. We had to switch rooms twice. The 1st room the hair dryer wasnt working not the biggest deal but annoying. Then we came home from dinner to find the toliet in our new room leaking from the base. Gross! The front desk women was not apologetic and acted annoyed with us. We were the ones that had to keep packing up and moving! With all these rooms the traffic outside was so incredibly loud! We woke up to the people next door talking. Sounded like they were in our room. Literally no sound proofing between rooms. The beds are terrible and the water is well water so smells like rotten eggs. Overall i would never stay here again or recommend this place.
