The Bear at Burton is a lovely hotel, beautiful bedroom with quirky touches. Very clean and comfortable. Service was brilliant, all staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious
Lovely rooms, very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Great place to stay with a dog as you can still have a very nice room can, dogs can eat in the main area with you, they even have blankets for them. Would definitely stay again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back soon.
Nice comfy beds and love all the traditional features of the property plus all the bear accents!
All the staff were fabulous and friendly.
Breakfast was great quality.
Great location a short drive from a beach we found. There isn’t a lot near the hotel but it is accessible to the surrounding areas for visiting places by car or bike. The room was large and had aircon plus a huge Dyson fan which was a plus in the heatwave. King size bed and double aspect and tastefully furnished with tea, coffee and water. Couldn’t fault the room. We ate in the restaurant ( outside dining) which was great but I booked prior to arrival. The food was average, we had a steak which was overcooked. The staff were lovely and couldn’t fault them. Would definitely stay again and highly recommended.
Lovely rural setting, very clean & tidy. Nice idea to offer complimentary G&T. Good food. The GM was very welcoming checking me in and showing me my room. The GM was also on duty for breakfast service and accommodated my need to leave early.
Can recommend,
This was a lovely place to stay. Professional but friendly and relaxed staff. Lovely breakfast and rooms very comfortable and have everything you need.
Thank you for a lovely staff

Good things: lovely room & bathroom. Drink on them on arrival which was a lovely touch.
Only downside was a droning noise at night coming from some power source, which made it difficult to sleep before about midnight when it stopped. It started again at 7.30am. We were in Delcombe room.
Mixed breakfasts: my husbands full english he said was very good but my dippy eggs were not runny & my smashed avocado was overwhelmed with tomatoes, so much so that the sour dough toast was very soggy. Howevet i only had to ask for a normal piece of toast & it arrived in replacement quickly. We enjoyed our stay on the whole but wouldnt stay again because of breakfast & the noisy room.
Good availability for parking, but car park could do with being resurfaced. Easy to check in and room was nice - very comfortable bed, a few quirks in the bathroom with a very low mirror over the sink that has you bent over to use and you can’t open the window to let out the steam. We had breakfast and dinner whilst here. Both meals were excellent- good choice and very tasty. Good selection of drinks as well. Was a good base for a visit to the area and would recommend
Lovely stay. The staff upgraded us to a larger room because of the extra stairs we had to climb with our luggage. They did not charge us. Dinner was delicious, and the service wonderful.
This is a lovely quirky place that does a good breakfast and delicious meals will definitely stay again. Rooms are beautiful with lots of added extras.
Lovely stay at the Bear of Burton. We treated our sons and their partners to an evening meal and overnight stay. The whole evening was great. The atmosphere was perfect. The staff were all extremely helpful, and our rooms were delightful. I can’t fault the meal, the service, the room or the lovely breakfast. I would recommend a stay here.
The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The property is looking tired and could do with a deep clean and some updating/ decorating but overall a very enjoyable stay, would definitely stay there again
