Boutique Hotels in Catalina Island

Where to begin? Running out of towels for the beach at a hotel but anywhere else in the world might be $100 per night at best that is $500 a night because it is close to the beach.... that is how the first day began. And so we purchased each towel towels. It's made worse by the fact that right next to our door was a basket for dirty beach towel towels. The same towel towels had been sitting there the entire day before. Perhaps if they wash those beach towels. There would be some for the guests. The room was very dirty. There was a lovely patio that we paid extra money for that was never cleaned from the last guest so we did not use it. There was black hair in the bathroom, I have blonde hair. It was not mine. It was revolting. The walls are paper, thin so much so that we started answering the people next to us or above us wherever the sound was coming from and they stopped talking so loud because they understood that we could hear their every word. The staff was pretty unaccommodating. They said everything with a smile, but they didn't say anything to offer any amount of customer service including we arrived at 8 AM and they said they would call when the room was ready, very tired and weary from travel we came back at 3 PM and he said oh yes, your room is ready. But he never did call. they do not tag your bags when you leave them behind the front desk and therefore anyone could take them.

Had to request more towels, no cleaning service between nights.
