If you can relate to animals this is the place for you. The Lodge is extremely comfortable to stay in and the bonus of the monkey family or fish to view are a bonus. The food was excellent and although middle of winter in Canberra we did not feel the cold. Too much to see and do behind the scenes. The white lions were there for dinner and remained for our breakfast. Animal hygiene was put into practice also time out for the animals. We got to pat a cheetah which was a wonderful experience. I would be delighted to visit this establishment again.

It is expensive but the animal experiences are uni

Pros: The decor in the main lodge is amazing, a cornucopia of african art. The evening dinner with the lions and hyenas was very special, but luck.
Location: Ten minutes drive from almost everything in Canberra. The zoo is worth most of a day on top of the included keeper walks. Do an "animal experience".
This is a very high-end experience where you get some exposure to the zoo behind the scenes while enjoying great food, wines, decore and some very close contact with your chosen room animal, and some others. All in all, a very special experience that delivered good value and heaps of special memories.

WILDLIFE WONDER

I knew that our stay would be something special - staying within the National Zoo & Aquarium. But I could not have guessed just how incredible it would be. From booking, check-in, meals, room, service to checking out we were so impressed with the quality, quantity and care. We were made to feel like VIPs. No other hotel or service provider stands a chance at measuring up to Jamala. Thank you so much. We cannot wait to book again - and have been recommending this place to our Canberra friends and interstate family and friends. Impeccable!
