Car park was awful. Trying to get in and out and staff have to take your key and details in case it needed to be moved to get another guest out. I wasn’t happy with this and the staff seemed unsure who would move it and if they would be insured. Given how small and bad the car park was I needed more reassurance and details. When I checked in I wasn’t asked if I’d parked in the car park and wasn’t aware I had to at the time. I sat on the terrace over looking at the car park and I saw a member of staff come out look at my number plate and say to another guest he would find out who it was and them to move it as he was checking out. If I had have gone shopping or out this guest would have been blocked in by me and unable to leave when planned. Obviously I went and discussed with staff and moved. But future guests should be made more aware of the situation and staff need to advise guests and be able to advise. All of the above for the cost of £30 per night!!

The room we got was run down (felt unclean, and the glasses provided were dirty) and extremely hot. There was stairs to get to the room and the AC did not work, and the refrigerator did not get cold at all. We left early and they wouldn’t reimburse us the remaining fee. I would not stay here again. Also if you are driving a car, I would recommend to not stay at this hotel. The students line up for exams right out the front door and there is noise and activity all around the entrance for the earlier portion of the day. The staff is not helpful with parking.

The hotel was welcoming, simply furnished but clean and comfortable. The only issue was the fridge which did not seem to be working, but I would definitely stay there again. Suggest including more tea/coffee sachets in the room, plus biscuits.

Badly in need of an update we were right at the top of the building in the loft. It was boiling. The Aircon wasn’t working but they kindly gave us a big fan but it was noisy and hard to sleep. Bathroom was very old but a decent size with a bath. The windows were old and broken. However, the staff were friendly.

Nice hotel - could be even better

Nice hotel, well situated. My main criticism was the heat in the room. It was like a sauna and there was very little that could be done to cool it down. Breakfast was...ok, not great. Couldn't fault the service. Everyone we encountered was lovely and very helpful.

Good stay close to the heart of Oxford

Stayed 2 nights in a two single bed room. We booked 2 rooms for my family of 4. Firstly the location was excellent for us. Just about a 5 minute walk to the heart of Oxford. The rooms are a bit dated but I have to believe that is fairly standard for Oxford. Cleanliness was again OK. The 2 single beds were interesting. One was very soft and the other was firm. So you will get a variety! We did call ahead for two rooms together but then was told one of the rooms was undergoing maintenance. Also, I believe there was a lift but we never ended up using it. I think we actually stayed on the side without a lift but it was only a few floors so not an issue for us. Overall, the stay was comfortable and without any issues.
