When we pulled up there was people standing in front of the doors smoking and loud talking. The hotel itself appears to have been well renovated, appearances are deceptive. We had room 100 at the front right by where everyone smokes. We do not. The room was very large and warm, only blackout curtains so you can't leave them open. The room smelled of cigarettes, the bed smelled of cigarettes. When we got up the next day, after a horrible night's sleep, we found another big issue. The toilet when flushed, came up into the shower tray. The sink didn't drain properly either. The shower room was very nice looking but didn't work. The floor tiles are cracked, as they haven't been laid correctly. So not a place i would trust with my health.

I booked this hotel because of its location to the B.I.C. it was a few minutes away and also close to the shops. The staff were very friendly and there was a nice swimming pool. The beds were comfy and clean. These are the good points. The hotel itself is quite rundown and needs a good overhaul. I appreciate its obviously an old building but, the floor in our room creaked and not just a little creak , it sounded as if the floor would collapse every step we took, it was so loud the peole underneath must have heard . Every footstep was loud. The bathroom was outdated nd needed a good clean. We had no service in the room during our stay. I did ask and they didnt arrive. We did , however have 2 dodgy looking men to fix the toilet! But they didnt come back and to be honest we didnt want them to. Ther breakfast was £9.50 if prebooked. There was a good choice and quality food. Unfortunately, it was mostly cold. My friend went to ask if itcould be warmed up and the kitchen wasn't clean looking. Someone did shove it in a microwave though!! The hotel looks lovely on the website but in actual fact is in need of a decent overhaul. Unfortunately, I wouldn't stay again.

Staff were friendly even though we were asked to pay for the room on arrival and when leaving even though it was already paid for when booked. The mattress has got to be one of the worst we've ever tried to sleep on you could feel the springs coming through and the bathroom grouting was black. Chairs in the dining room were all covered in dirty marks. We were not asked if our stay was ok on check out we were so tired from lack of sleep we just wanted to get home

Overcharged on arrival when they took an additional payment of £65 for parking. The rooms are filthy and I woke up to find I’d been bitten by bedbugs. The whole place smells of damp. It might be cheap but avoid this place if you value your health!!!
