The net curtains in the room had not been changed for months they were thithlyand discoulered,the room reminded me of the sixtees,the carpet was stained.

I stayed here with my partner for the 2025 air show weekend. It’s a great location on the sea front and our room had gorgeous sea views. If you’re interested to see what it was like to experience luxury at the turn of the century you can see it here. Very dated, of course, but with lots of stunning original features. We parked here for 2 nights, costing £20. The bar was well priced and the room a great size. My only complaints are that our room was situated between 2 chimneys, and on an extremely windy weekend this made for a very noisy bed time! Luckily my partner can sleep through anything and I’d taken earplugs with me. Secondly, the bed was only a double so felt rather cramped after sleeping in a king. Still, no reason to mark down - it was a great stay.

The property is beautiful but is now looking tired afterva long period of not being updated. The bedroom we had while perfectly fit for purpose does not meet the standard required today. The window in the bathroom, while double glazed, did not close properly so was quite draughty. This was not to much of a problem as it was quite warm during our stay, but would be very uncomfortable in colder weather.

Great staff shame about the hotel.

While the staff continue to provide excellent service and are very customer focussed I’m afraid the hotel is in a poor state of repair and while the rooms are clean they are in desperate need of a refurbishment. All aspects of the room, the furniture and fittings and the bathrooms will need a major overhaul. I’m sorry to say I won’t be going back unless there is a major refurbishment. In the future.

Love this hotel, my favourite, we have a wonderful sea view, lots of space in our room, quiet hotel, nice bar area and good entertainment. Comfortable beds and a fantastic breakfast in a lovely dining room, brought my friends here and they loved the victorian feel and its grandeur. Good staff too. Keep up the good work imperial

The room smelled of dampness from the second we entered it until the second we checked out. We booked a family room however, upon arrival and check in, we were given a double room with no extra bed for our 4 year old, despite advising age and booking a family room. We were then given a fold away bed which meant we had to rearrange furniture to make it fit. An actual bed which was part of the room would have been appreciated so as not to feel like an after thought. The curtains were hanging off the rail and were filthy, the windows were filthy. The carpet was extremely frayed in places. The mattress was solid and very uncomfortable. It is very dated which is of course to be expected given the age of the hotel, however improvements could definitely be made. On the plus side, a tram stop is right outside, the area was quiet which was great!
