Lovely clean spacious room, although only had a small window so a little dark. We were on the 4th floor and room very warm for sleeping even with fan provided. Bed very comfortably although pillows not! Lovely hotel with nice relaxing bar area. Breakfast had everything we needed and was lovely, just one complaint, the hot dishes did not keep the cooked breakfast warm so we had a cold cooked breakfast which was a shame as it tasted great! All in all a great place for a stopover but could have been better with little touches.

I did like paying 18 pound a day to park my car there when i am paying good money to stop in hotel. I found the hotel to be a bit run down ,seats were worn down and cushions on outside seating some had black mold on them ,a very overpriced hotel and drinks were expensive .room was in need of tlc ,would not go back to this hotel .

Service lets this hotel down in particular by reception staff who came across as very unhelpful. Rooms don’t have air con so I wouldn’t recommend staying in the height of the summer. Breakfast buffet is adequate but nothing special. Disappointed that they charge for parking - as most people drive this is just a hidden cost to be added on the room rate.

An enjoyable 2 day stay enjoyed by me and the wife. The hotel was clean, the staff amenable and the Spa good. Only complaint was the lack of available lifts and having to wait for 5 minutes each time it was required

Rooms are dated, but with newish bathrooms, which included a bath. Our stay was soured by finding poo on the bathroom door and other areas in the bathroom, plus ‘other bodily fluids’ on the curtains, which really ruined the first night. Clearly this isn’t the hotels fault that someone had done this, but it wasn’t cleaned when requested. Also then made me look harder at bits and a realised the tiles in the bathroom hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time and the roof was generally dirty. Other parts of the hotel were good. Spa was good, with keycoded lockers. Pool is hot at 30-33c I think. Outdoor area and the ability to have drinks in there. Children are £5 extra I think, time limited between 0700-0900 and 1700-1900. Car park is £15 a night, until 1300 the next day. I wanted to extend soi could have lunch in town but the machine was broken at the app was very buggy soi gave up.breakfast was the standard sort, nothing to rant or rave about. The bar was good, it was heaving when we were there but the bar chap was still able to come over, take orders, etc. The building is really on a grand scale, the carters/breakfast room could fit a few houses in there! I get the feeling this is used a lot by people going for a night out, we had to leave a damage deposit

Gorgeous hotel, great location

Reception, cleaning and bar staff very pleasant. Staff radio on loud, so we could hear conversations about which rooms had been vacated etc, and overheard a manager publicly telling the cleaner off on the stairway when walking past. Our door was left unlocked one morning by the cleaner. Lifts not always working, some areas of the hotel a little tired, cigarette butts all over by the entrance. Beautiful building Great location Room lovely, nice to have a bath in the room. Comfortable bed and nice to have tea and coffee making and iron in the room. A bit cheeky that the hotel takes £150 out of your account just in case you spend anything on your account, guess they are making on the interest!

For a hotel the size of the Majestic one small lift is just not enough, and when that lift was out of action for almost all of a 4 night stay! The hotel has just been fully refurbed - yet has no air-con. It really does not deserve the price it charges.

Beautiful hotel

Beautiful hotel with lovely rooms perfect location for visiting Harrogate. The staff were friendly and helpful. The spa is great but can get very busy, the outdoor hot tub is good but could of done with better cleaning we found it a bit dirty. The bar service can be slow at times when just one person serving. Just a couple of things that were a bit disappointing, firstly we had a 15 minute wait for our room to be ready. Secondly around 9.15 in the morning housekeeping knocked on the door and entered the room whilst we were still in bed 'not sleeping', although check out wasn't until 11am. The dining room at breakfast time was very busy with a wait for a table and queues for the coffee machine and toaster, however the breakfast was great.

Noisy Wedding reception beneath our room, we were in the first floor so could hear the Spice girls word for word , maybe reservations could allocate more appropriate rooms when there is a booked wedding. Looking at reviews this is a common complaint.

Our first visit to Harrogate. Came to see our grandsons passing out parade, at the army barracks Had a great stay at doubletree. Was given a great room. Swimming pool and spa was excellent. Perfect for visiting Harrogate. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. The only bad thing was the car parking charge . Would like to return, but not sure we want to pay the car park charge.
