Check in was smooth but the male attendant wasn't very informative.
Our room was seperate from the main hotel in a Butlins style set-up, a short walk away from reception.
Parking was available directly outside our chalet which was convenient, and the surrounding gardens were very well maintained.
Our room was small and looked tired, with a desperate need for modernisation. The carpet and skirting boards were dirty and the furniture appeared worn and outdated. There was a lack plug sockets and no USB direct chargiing points. My husband found a 4 plug extension cable hidden behind the bedside cabinet, so we utilised this. Therefore, we only had phone charging capabilty on his side of the bed.
The shower room also looked tired, with the ceiling fan half hanging out, & the mirror edgeing desilvered.
The water from the hot tap was scalding hot, and the shower was running only cold water on our first day. We subsequently had to go to the Spa within the main hitel to have a shower. We did complain about this and the nice gentleman at reception said that he would come over and check it.
The following morning, we did manage to have a shower in the room, but the water was tepid, and then ran cold afterwards.
The Spa/leisure area was ok, but could also do with a makeover (for example, the first shower I walked into had no water coming through & the jacuzzi was connected to the main pool, so was cold. The steam room had minimal steam, so wasn't very effective. More like a 2/3 star hotel
