The hotel is a bit tired compared to the old days but still a better hotel for Manchester. It lacks a notable level of 5* service, all being very reception driven. The price certainly doesn’t reflect the hotel, it’s living on it reputation. I asked for a bacon sandwich int he morning, but the waitress was forced to tell me that “the chef says make it yourself from the buffet”. The bacon on the buffet was old and looked boiled and grey. The options at breakfast are vast but the hot buffet is very poor quality. I’d recommend exploring other options.

The Lowry is brilliantly situated with a car park and close to shops and restaurants. The hotel rooms are bland and uninspired and the shower wasn’t very powerful, just an underwhelming experience
