Choyia’s Place on Kings River

This unique passive solar home was built by retired Air Force Lt. Colonel A.J. Smith and his wife Choyia in the early 90’s. They loved the area and wanted to share its beauty with their friends and visitors. We want to do the same. This 7000 sq.ft. home sits on the banks of the Kings River. It is great for canoeing, kayaking and fishing. The home has a very large kitchen and the dining area can seat 25 for meals. There are 5 bedrooms in the home, three have king beds and private baths. There is a bunk room that sleeps 6. The house sleeps 16 comfortably. There are 2 bar areas, a game room with pool table, game table and cozy seating area around fireplace. There is an exercise room with equipment and 6 person hot tub. A nice sun room is attached for morning coffee and a great place to read. There is a solarium with plants to bring the outside in. Choyia’s place is 25 minutes from historic Eureka Springs. 20 minutes from the beautiful Dogwood Canyon and around 45 minutes from Branson Mo. and Silver Dollar City. If you want to float the river we can refer you to a local Canoe rental service. If you would like, we can provideva grocery pickup for you so you will have everything you need when you arrive. We want you to relax and have a wonderful time and come back again and again.

There is a lot of steps, but it didn't stop our youngest at age 3. The kitchen had everything. Plenty of extra stuff as well such as paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags. Our whole family loved this house.

We had a great stay. Home was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Plenty of room for our families staying there. Our host was very accommodating with requests. We did not, however, that the water pressure was low. She is fixing that after our departure but was willing to do it during our stay if the problem was bad enough. Again, loved this property. It was very quiet area. It was a joy to sit outside on one of the many decks and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

We enoyed the space and access to the river. The kitchen and dining areas were nice for our large family. The house needs a good thorough cleaning (dusting light fixtures and cobwebs on the ceilings). There was VERY low water pressure so even though there are plenty of bathrooms, we had to only use one at a time in order to have enough pressure to shower. The host was very responsive and helpful.

Great stay for our large group of Harley riders. Need to mention that this house is almost a mile down a gravel road for those who visit on 2 wheels. Not the best situation, especially after a rainfall. This doesn't take away from the accomiations and wonderful host.

Family vacation

This house was absolutely perfect for our family of 10 and our 2 labs. There was so much room to spread out. We enjoyed having the pool table, darts and hot tub to use. We swam in the river multiple tunes and access from the property was so convenient. Our host was amazing and very prompt. Highly recommend!!!

A little slice of heaven

My husband and I with our 3 kids and their spouses along with 7 grands booked for a long weekend. Suffice to say it wasn’t long enough!!The house is amazing and Debbie was Johnny on the spot with her responses. We lived the fact that it was nestled back in the woods right on the river. Debbie has thought of everything you might need for your stay and supplied it abundantly. To say she has gone above and beyond to make your stay awesome is an understatement. We will definitely be staying here again.

Fantastic Stay with an unexpected bit of history!

Our stay was great. The area is amazing amd Debbie was super helpful! We accidentally locked ourselves out and she was able to come and rescue us! This location is quiet and disconnected which was just what we needed!

This was the best appointed VRBO that we have stayed at in years. There was plenty of room for people to spread out, but also big enough kitchen/ dining/ living area to accommodate all of us in one general area. Family holiday vacay

The house was just as described. You will never find a more well stocked vacation home. Things we brought were already there so we just shared and left some things that we had brought. The owner answered all questions in an extremely fast response. If there was one negative it would be how rural the home was to attractions that we planned daily. That however was to no fault of the owner. We truly enjoyed the home and it was very accommodating for 14 adults and 2 children.

Weekend getaway

This property exceeded our expectations. Plenty of space and you can’t beat the location. The river was too low to float which was our plan but we caught plenty of fish just down from the house. Can’t recommend enough. Thanks for the great weekend.

Wonderful Trip with our Adult Children

Kings River Float Trip

We stayed at Choyia’s place last summer for our Friend’s River Vacation and loved it so much! We met some awesome locals who told us about the public river access points around the area and that we should bring our kayaks/canoes and float on our own! We knew we had to come back and do just that. So we DID and it was wonderful! Below Choyia’s place is a public access point (walking distance) and we were able to float two days; Grandview bridge to Choyia’s Place (7.3 miles) and then Choyia’s place to the Romp Hole (4.9 miles)! It was a blast!! Choyia’s place is nestled in the perfect place for those ‘said’ river adventures! The house is always amazing and spacious with tons of activities inside! Deborah is also a lovely hostess with the mostest with snacks and drinks upon arrival and superb communication! We always feel right at home, safe, and relaxed!! Choyia’s Place is where it’s at!

Beautiful Area and Amazing Host

We had so much fun staying here! We loved how secluded it was but close enough to run into town if we forgot something. I loved that we could just walk down to the river and the water was crystal clear. The views from the deck were spectacular. Would definitely recommend for a getaway.

Great find!

The house is very spacious with lots of room to visit with others or enjoy some alone time in one of several of the tucked-away alcoves. The kitchen is amply stocked with plenty of silverware and cooking gear. The Kings River is within a few steps of the back yard, but no fish were caught...:( The only drawback was the slow internet connection; it was slower than dial-up and couldn't accommodate all of the iPads, iPhones, and TV's in use. There are other service providers, such as StarLink, that should be able to improve the performance. All in all, it was a very enjoyable stay, and we all would highly recommend Choyia's Place to others.
