We liked the architectural style of the hotel and the fact it is located relatively close to a subway station. The breakfast buffet could have had more variety and it was expensive for what you get.

Pro: - Very close to the main sightseeing attractions, shops, restaurants, and etc. - Multiple elevators make the mobility easy and fast - Impressive breakfast - Spacious and clean room and bathroom - Comfy beddings Con: - Wifi didn't work AT ALL! It was really really bad during my business trip. I asked the staff at the reception but didn't help much. Only with this Wifi issue, I don't think I will stay here for my next business trip. - Some reception staff had lack of English, it was hard to communicate. - The rooms are located in circle, if you look at the picture, the cylindrical structure is somewhat like a chimney. So when breakfast starts, the echoing noise from plates and utensils clinking spreads which you can hear from your room too.

room for improvements

The hotel should strictly enforce its non-smoking policy. There were people smoking on the 7th floor where we stayed. The windows should be cleaned more frequently that they are now. There were mud & dust stains which blocked our views.

Great location and stylish 5 star hotel. However, the internal facility is bit out dated, some parts even a bit damaged.

What a REAL gem! I mean it. I’ve been paying Marriott prices and this place is slightly less but the luxury and convenience is beyond words. The founder David Chow spared no expense building and maintaining this spectacular hotel. If you’re in the area just walk in and check it out. The rooms are just as if not better with high ceilings. Soaking super clean bathtub and spacious bathroom. The bedroom is so quiet, clean and beautiful you can’t wait to come back after a stroll around Beijing. Trust me. It’s worth a stay in this majestic city.

Loved this hotel. Even though it's showing signs of its age, there were some cracks in the wall, which had been repaired, but were still very prominent. You can feel the colonial inspiration and ghosts of that Chinese past. Staff were excellent and always around for help. Loved the room and feel of the hotel. Super convenient to good food and transportation. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Stylish city hotel

Very stylish hotel, good quality rooms although pillows a bit hard. As non Chinese speaking guests we found the service occasionally challenging. There was an excellent Italian lady who helped us at breakfast and with subway instructions. However, staff at the front desk were not so friendly and less able to communicate without their managers. good choice at breakfast. good location

Stunning hotel! The huge lobby area is amazing. Reminded me of the fancier hotels in Las Vegas - Bellagio, Venetian etc. Make sure you look up in the middle of the lobby. Staff were very helpful. There were a couple with excellent English who always made sure to help hapless Westerners! The room was lovely and big and had the grandeur to match the public areas. Excellent bathroom with bath plus walk-in shower, and nice toiletries. Don't fret about the window between the room & bathroom - there is a blind! The lobby bar is quite expensive as are all hotel bars in China it would seem, but it is a nice place to sit for a while. We also had some great cocktails across the road in the Regent and the whisky bar next door to it.
